Re: Next Gig you are going to go to...........
Saw a new up and coming band called Ulrika Spacek ("remember the naaaaame!!" etc. etc.) last week, who've also just released their debut album. Sort of grungey krautrock. Impressive.
Gigs lined up in the coming weeks and beyond - The Besnard Lakes, Wild Nothing, Low, Teleman (possibly) & Malcolm Middleton.

All sold out Maldini as you'd expect for the world's best band.

I'm not a Muse 'fan' in fact, but they are so good live I always make a point of going to see them.
Even went up the ARSEnal last time, and I don't go there out of choice very often..... lol

Three of the headliners are Belle & Sebastian (No. Just NO!), James Blake (Not interested) and Wild Beasts (how the bloody hell have they pulled that off??).
Second wave of announcements include personal live favourites King Gizzard & The Lizard Wizard. RESULT!
Other notable inclusions are Grandaddy and Warpaint. Fourth headliner still to come.

Re: Next Gig you are going to go to...........
Latitude Lineup announced this morning.
They normally drip feed in some more acts nearer the time and some 'surprise' late additions.
Sadly no Radiohead announced though (and too big to be a late addition to the bill).
Thought PJ Harvey was nailed on (she's doing just about every other festival in europe this summer!
6Music Stage is a bit of a disappointment so far to be honest.

Bluedotfestival at Jodrell Bank.
Pretty decent lineup over the three days.
I'm only doing the Friday;
Public Service Broadcasting
George Fitzgerald (don't know anything about)
Underworld
On the other nights it's Jean Michel Jarre, Caribou, Everything Everything, DJ Shadow, British Sea Power, Steve Mason.

We have got tickets to go to House of Common, a festival organised by and headlining Madness - it's on Clapham Common on August Bank Holiday Monday and I'm really looking forward to it as I was at the original Madstock in Finsbury Park back in 92 (you can even see me in one of the photos on the tape inlay card!)

Re: Next Gig you are going to go to...........
Radiohead went on sale this morning;
Gutted to spend 15minutes (pre-sale time) in the queue... then a further 20 minutes in the queue itself only to find it has sold out!!!!
Why not just kick me out and tell me its sold out.
Not bothered about the time, gutted about missing out.
Had wanted to go to the Amsterdam gig (as london dates clashed with daughters birthday).
Naively thought, might be easier to get tickets in Amsterdam

In many ways, the perfect gig. A great band in what's probably my favourite venue (now that Liverpool's Kazimier has gone), The Deaf Institute. New material sounding superb along with the stuff I was already familiar with. Always nice to be in a crowd that's so attentive and that's boasts a broad age range too (the sign of a quality band!). Zero dickhead factor. Like I say, PERFECT.
Special kudos to the band for having everything available on their merch stall, in both cd and vinyl format, and all at a fair price. £8 for the new album? Take that, Amazon!

I'm sure there are a few fellow Teenage Fanclub fans on here, so in case you've missed it, they're playing Bristol, London, Edinburgh & Manchester in early September (as well as End Of The Road festival). They've said they'll announce more dates for a proper tour later in the year when the new album is out.
Manchester ticket purchased, naturally. Woo-Hoo!

Went to watch Black Peaks last night, Safe to say they absolutely smashed it. Big things ahead for those boys. Was also very impressed with the opening band, Toska.

Fourth headliner is Laura Marling. Underwhelmed. Seen her there before. Not bad, but I wouldn't ever go out of my way to catch her live. A more noticeable and exciting addition today was Lush. Love their comeback single.

What a class act. Was a bit worried it would be a bit heavy on the new stuff (as it's a fair bit different to his past albums - not miserable enough!)), but nay bother. It all sounded great together.
In related news, Arab Strap have announced a few dates (London, Manchester, Glasgow - the latter already sold out) to celebrate 20 years since 'The Week Never Starts Round Here', their debut album.

Got my eye on a cracking line up at Manchester's Albert Hall (never been, so exciting in itself) for later in the year; Goat, Hookworms, Jane Weaver, Mugstar + a couple of others. Belter!

FUTURE ISLANDS
Bagged tickets for their show at the Brighton Dome in April.
Suuuuuuuuper hyped for this one.
Anyone else going to catch them on this tour?
Shows in Glasgow, Leeds, Liverpool, Brighton, Nottingham and Bristol.
I highly recommend. One of the best live bands I have ever seen, and I have seen many!

Sadly not. Missed out on tickets for Liverpool.
Been relatively quiet on the gig front for me. Have got these booked:
Michael Kiwanuku
Radiohead
Blue Dot festival
Keeping my eye out for Goldfrapp (they've announced a few small venues... so hoping that's a pre-cursor to a bigger/wider tour).

Sadly, it wasn't what i was expecting and i made a sharp exit after about 20 minutes!
Michael Kiwanuka on the other hand was absolutely sensational. This guy is the real deal. Only slight complaint i would have is that he's a bit 'samey' but what he does do sounds terrific. Great voice and a great band.
