no worse than playing through a phone or laptop though surely?

I've got an echo dot in my office linked to an amplifier and speakers, and an echo input downstairs linked to a Tuner and 2 zone speaker system, so if you have a hifi system or surround sound TV system its definitely worth getting. I wouldn't turn it down though if not.

ps - how do you actually get this? I've got spotify family but logging on to my account seems to give me zero clues as to how to redeem the offer

If you’re playing music through your phone or laptop surely it’s for portability and you’ll use ear/headphones?

Like I said, if you can link to something with decent quality sound then they’re ok.

That said, we’ve had an Amazon Echo since Christmas and it’s just gathering dust in the corner of the living room.

seems to skip that if you get automatically logged in. Logged out and back in and it came up.
