Hey guys, long time no post!

Been super busy with real life stuff and literally had no spare time at all for DT.

Have abandoned the main game, never even made a transfer but things are starting to settle down now and with the recent CL draw my mind started thinking about my favourite sub games, the Europe Compitions.

So thought I would start a thread (admittedly prematurely) where we could discuss general stuff like the recent draw...

Wondering when the side game will start anyone know?

Do you think it will be a similar format to the last few years?

What about the draw? Will Leicester be dark horses? Will Araenal get smashed by Bayern?

I've no confidence the game will run at all. The implosion of SDT in recent months is a very sorry state of affairs.

One thing that happened was variable pricing which meant if you didn't start with the correct players you were playing catchup to afford a team. Fair enough if you anticipated the curve but it impacted the monthly where new teams were unaffordable so they scrapped it instead of offering something like an unlimited budget. They introduced the weekly where you picked seven players but it's a bit of a lottery. They introduced a prize over a number of weeklies that's starting later than first planned. I think they will pull something together for the Euro game as they certainly seem to put the effort in at least even if it results in constant rule changing so maintaining a tactic in the game gets elusive.

was told that no decision had been made yet but would more than likely be doing it as last years was a success

They just need to keep it simple. They overcomplicate things by trying to be too clever and they don't really think through the consequence.

A simple £5 per team, 6 teams total, with 3 windows of 3-5 transfers each. List all the players available and don't bother with the variable pricing (the players that get through to the later rounds will be unaffordable unless you get them in early)

Very good news (even if I belly flopped last year from a 25ft high diving board into an Olympic size swimming pool with no water), it's been a welcomed addition to Dremteam last couple of years.

Looking at the info JPK has posted (very grateful for all this), it looks like there are currently 337 players listed (ctrl+f then £ sign - 3 )

It's always been a bit of a bug bear of mine when it comes to the listing of players in any Dreamteam competition that they never list every single player that has made the official UEFA squad lists that all clubs have to submit, meaning many players will play that we will never be able to pick, maybe in thier mind they think if they list too many obscure players that nobody has ever heard of, it would put people off and take away the fun, but from my point of view it is much more of a challenge to reseach players and put a team together. It's also fairer as they are players for teams not listed that score goals and who we would want to have picked but couldn't. But especially in the Europa League there are far fewer blocks to chose from and in many cases, nobody to choose from at all.

I wouldn't play if there were 1,200 players listed (48 teams x 25 players each). I think on a first pass that it's a reasonable list.
