Re: Ultimate FPL 2014/15
It would be a lot more popular if the scoring was similair to that of FPL, I think paying for a game you have no real experience of has put of a lot of regular FPL players.
Also the prize payouts are awful. 25k for first is obviously good, but it should be more spread and heavily weighter to top 1-3/1-5 and then staggered lower and lower. The main game is free so if people are going to pay they will probably want a good chance of getting something at the end of it. If anybody has ever played a poker tournament and seen there payouts it should be similair to that, it would atract a lot more interest in my opinion anyway.
I think the marketing for it has been bad too, I've not seen it in any newspapers on on gambling sites.
EXAMPLE Payout Structure:
It's a shame because it does have a lot of potential, I just don't think people like parting with money with so few prizes, people like things like poker / national lottery because you have a fair chance of getting something back from 2/3 numbers in the lottery for example. In this game even if your a solid player your going to have to be incredibly lucky to finish 1st overall or even 1st in any given month. I think the people behind the game haven't really thought it through properly. No idea why other countries that are actually allowed to gamble can't participate either, strange.

Re: Ultimate FPL 2014/15
A total of 4,686 entrants a minute ago.
623,000 odd in the main game - which is perhaps a third of what they will get of day 1 players.
So perhaps 15k players - maybe less.
The game is very time intensive and I bet the majority (me included) will go on holiday and miss a week or two / lose interest, become IT discombobulated.
As games go the no. of contenders / 1st prize ratio (if there were such a thing) would be quite high.
Or as Sp4 said, Shhh.

I have tried joining but had a message stating they could not verify my age!
Emailed UFPL and the response was to scan my drivers license or passport and send to them, well I can't be bothered with that and will save my fiver.
Wonder if others have had the same problem.

In my case they had a technical glitch and it defaulted to that reply.
Just give them your address and presuming you have a passport you should be fine.
Mention Fiso, they know who we are and are keen not to make enemies of us.

Re: Ultimate FPL 2014/15
If only mentioning FISO would work in the refused-payments situation too (there are countries not affected by restrictive gambling laws and not on their list of banned countries and still, cards from those countries aren't accepted by their provider; it's true, they do say that list isn't exhaustive, but still it's hard to understand why a payment from a country where gambling isn't restricted is denied. nothing to do about it, probably.)

Whatever, good luck to all - I have always been nonplussed by the appeal of the FPL game seeing as it hasn't ever had a cash prize incentive, hoping that UFPL works out, looks good to me.
Hi,
"In the interest of fair play each person may only enter one team".
"Each unique registered user shall be based on a unique email address provided by the Player but nothing shall prevent a Player submitting more than one entry by using different unique registered user accounts".
This is saying that although there is nothing stopping an individual from making multiple accounts using various email addresses (i.e. there is no software in place that detects two entries from one user), it is against the rules and we will try our hardest to make sure that no individual has more than one team.
Hope this helps.

Looks like a bit of a gap between intention and ability to police it.
Only one team for me anyway.
a bit of timely knee-capping would soon ensure compliance
i've entered this for the first time.. not convinced i have understood it but giving it a go!

Re: Ultimate FPL 2014/15
Almost 12k entries now so they'll easily make money. Probably be closer to 25k by Saturday.
One question, unless I'm missing something, is there any point in the Vice-captain in this game? Surely only if you don't make any changes will the VC be called into action, and that's not very likely in this format

I emailed them about this as well, and it seems you are allowed to enter more than one team provided you use a different email address;The Catman wrote:Asked UFPL about this and got the following reply:

I planned on entering more than one team(two teams), I did pretty good at it last season on the Beta version, I think I finished around 30ish overall.Hi,
You may enter more than one team into Ultimate FPL, but please bare in mind that you will have to pay an additional 5 pounds for every new team you enter.
Hope this helps.

I messed up a bit with putting players on my reserve bench that I meant to put on my substitutes bench, and should have finished much higher, but c'est la vie.

Some clarification required re captain changes . Scenario. captain Rooney ,low points, change to Silva for Sunday, low points again, can I then change again for Costa on Monday or is it only 1 capt change allowed?

Yep you can change for Costa as far as I remember, as long as he is on your subs bench.
The only way you can't change your captain is if he gets sent off, then you are stuck with him.
Kind of like the McDonalds game if I recall correctly.

Guzan, Kaboul and Hutton sitting in the reserves and a whole host of 2 pointers on the pitch
If you have a decent Liverpool or City alternative then you have a couple of shots at beating 8 points for captain. It's a tight one.

Quick question;
The rules state;
Looking at the rules they seem to suggest I only have until the end of August and January to use up all of my respective transfers as quoted above. A little bit confusing, can someone clear it up for me?
The rules state;
Yet in the transfer windows they both run into September and February respectively;Unused transfers are carried over but will be reset to 0 at the end of the August and January transfer windows. This means you have a maximum of 15 transfers to be used in August and 12 in January.
Does that mean I have until 13th September and the 7th of Febuary to use up my respective transfers, or will my transfers be set at zero at the end of August and January, and I will get an extra five in September and three in February respectively?Gameweek 1 16 Aug 12:30 23 Aug 12:30 5
Gameweek 2 23 Aug 12:30 30 Aug 12:30 5

Well worth contacting them for clarification, they reply within 24 hrs, but my assumption was that we effectively get 15 transfers to be used before GW4 starts.
Can you let us know the answer?

Here was the answer incase anyone was slightly confused.
Was just a little confused because of this bit;
This must mean your transfers get carried over until the 13th September, and are then reset to 0 after.Hi,
Unused transfers are carried over but will be reset to 0 at the end of the August transfer window. This means you have a maximum of 15 transfers to be used in the first 3 Gameweeks.
The Gameweek 3 deadline is 13th September at 12:30 (GMT).
Hope this helps.

Finally getting the hang of the game. Slow start but massive jump up the table this Gameweek with 126 points and one more player this evening.
Next Gameweek I have more GW2 players than GW1.
