Re: The Egg Cup League 1 2014/15
Here's how we stand ahead of today's fixtures.
Last week was a cracking week for Woody - with big scores from the Spurs DGW pair Kane and Eriksen, his 79 was the second highest of the week. He moves above Jag (45, second lowest of week) into second. My 54 points was enough to keep me on top, I now lead by 21 points.
While Jag and I have very similar teams (only three differences), Woody's is very different and with 4 United players he'll be hoping they finish the season strongly.
Long-time leader Boltonboy (51) continues to drop back and now finds himself 60 off the lead, with the rapidly-improving Bigbaddod (64) and TenpinTerry (78, the best of the week) closing fast.
If my sums are right, the transfers remaining for the top 4 are 5 each for me and Jag, 4 each for Woody and BB, so no real advantage for anyone there.
At the other end, with Dude and Nathan already dead and buried, it's all about the last relegation slot. A tough week for Nffc (47) sees him drop into that 10th place, but only 12 points cover the four teams in 7th-10th, so all still very close.

Reasons for Transfers: There was a case for dropping any of the three strikers for Kane, but decided to keep the two with extra games, and Kane of course provides cash to bring Hazard back in. With £3m in the bank I was sorely tempted to replace Downing as well, but as I'm now down to just three transfers I thought I'd leave it at that.

Re: The Egg Cup League 1 2014/15
Poor week from me (29 points). I stay in front but everyone makes up some ground on me, Woody (34) is now 16 off the lead, Jag (33) 3 points further back.
Tenpinterry scored 57 points, the highest of the week by a street mile - that included 13 points from Giroud and 9 from Blind. So a storming week and he moves above Boltonbboy (33) into fourth spot.
Lowest scores of the week were from Wiseowl and Dude, both with 22. That sees Wiseowl drop into the relegation zone.

Re: The Egg Cup League 1 2014/15
Latest update.
Good week for me - 58 points mean I extend my lead at the top thanks to Rooney, Sanchez, Hazard and... Bellerin , I now lead Woody (48) by 23 points. Jag though gets the highest score of the week with 61 points and is now 33 off the lead.
When you are down to your last few transfers, avoiding injuries is important and I've been lucky the last few weeks staying injury-free while Jag (Costa) and Woody (Forster) have been forced into changes. Right now I have three transfers left (thinking about a tinker prior to Liverpool's cup match tomorrow night), Woody has two and Jag is down to his last one.
Tenpinterry's recent charge stalls, his 36 points leaves him 65 off the lead, which looks a lot to make up with games running out.
Lowest score of the week was a tie between WiseOwl and Geoffv (both 31), and they'll now be looking over their shoulders at Nffc who may yet escape that third relegation spot.

Re: The Egg Cup League 1 2014/15
Here's the latest table.
Thanks mainly to the Downing-Henderson tinker paying off last week, I extend my lead at the top with 50 points. The gap to second-placed Woody (43 this week) is now 30 points, closely followed by Jag (49). Jag is down to his last transfer, Woody and I each have two left.
Highest score of the week though goes to Nffc (57) who continues to make up ground on the pack and is now just 16 points behind Wiseowl in the scrap to avoid the last relegation place.
Lowest of the week goes to long-time leader Boltonboy, as he continues his freefall down the table... and will now be looking over his shoulder, as he is now only 27 clear of that third relegation slot himself.

Re: The Egg Cup League 1 2014/15
In real life I'm still coming down from the Wembley highs and lows of that "so near but so far" match - Reading's first cup semifinal in 88 years. The fact that I had Sanchez in my egg team was not much of a consolation, tbh
Anyway, on with the update...
Big week for Jag - 5 goals and 3 assists means that his 55 points is the highest of the week and that moves him above Woody (33) into second place. Woody suffered from two Man Utd defender no-shows and, unlike Jag and me, the choice of Giroud over Sanchez. Jag is now 18 points behind me (39).
Lowest score of the week was Hogweed's 27, he is the latest to drop to 9th, just one place above Nffc and the bottom three.

Yeah, thanks, they were. And at least (after Millwall's loss last night) we are now mathematically safe and can relax and enjoy the rest of the season.happyhoppy wrote:Reading were absolutely brilliant Hog I thought you were going to do it. Unlucky.

Re: The Egg Cup League 1 2014/15
Jag continues with what's looking like a perfectly timed push for the title - his 36 points move him to within 8 points of me. I suffered a bit this week with just 26 - in third place, though, Woody (18) had a real mare with the lowest score of the week - the Man U result on Sunday did him no favours.
Best score of the week was Boltonboy who moves back up to 6th.
Scrap for the third relegation spot remains tight, with 14 points now between Hogweed and nffc.

Hog Eggs
Fabianski £2.3
Van Aanholt £2.2

Kane £3.8
Transfers Left: None
Value of Team: £48.8m
Reasons for Transfers: Simple loading with Arsenal players for the extra games. Why I didn't get rid of Rooney ages ago is anyone's guess, while I was caught out by Villa beating Liverpool, making my earlier Henderson transfer look a bit daft. Anyway, those were my last two transfers, so unless anyone else is already out, I claim the Tinkerman trophy this year (not something to be proud of, tbh)
