Re: CC tournies
For the record if anyone needs a partner in a doubles/triples/quads tournament and doesnt mind me learning a lot of maps as I go just sign me up - no need to ask first - I'm premium now so I'll always be able to fit the games in
Wi1bert will confirm that I do pick things up fairly quickly (even if I can have a habit of asking annoying questions about strategy )

Woohoooo nice1.
Yes crispy does learn quickly but only after being shouted at screamed at sulked at and threatened with "I'll find out where you live if you don't listen"
I MUCH rather that than the stoney silence you get with others though

Stuboy and I are in this one - I'm through to round 2 having defeated Frox333 3-0 (a lovely 69 ranking points from that too - secures my Lieutenant rank a bit better), Stuboy also through having beaten Jovel 2-1 - flying the FISO flag!

Re: CC tournies
By coincidence I'm in a feudal war game with Frox at the moment. He went running round threatening people to exit villages then got stomped on when his own base was taken off him. Bit erratic. Mind you, his profile says he is 14...crispybits wrote:http://www.conquerclub.com/forum/viewto ... 1&t=174716

Re: CC tournies
I don't think feudal is his strength - he was running round taking out all the neutral 10s he could find in both games which just left an easy path for me to sweep through and wipe him out.

Very pleased that the hour I spent working out my move went so well and got me my highest rating to date!

Re: CC tournies
Wouldn't have thought he'd do that in tournament games - plenty of other games where you can drop points if you want.Vid wrote:Deliberate losses to shave points?crispybits wrote:I don't think feudal is his strength - he was running round taking out all the neutral 10s he could find in both games which just left an easy path for me to sweep through and wipe him out.

Re: CC tournies
Mostly I like conquest style maps - so the obvious Feudal x2, Clandemonium, etc, but also New World, Jamaica, would give the AoR type maps a go as I believe they are the same sort of style but never actually played them.
For non-conquest style maps great britain is the one that's not ridiculously simple that I have half decent experience on, but if you have a favourite then go for it, just be prepared to explain any key tic-tacs

Re: CC tournies
I've gone with Clandemonium, although you'll probably be teaching me how to do that map. Also think there are a couple of strong players on here who can give us some tips as well.
Look forward to it

Re: CC tournies
Clandemonium is fairly simple (it's just big) - it's just a race to the centre initially, although sometimes depending on how the game goes it can be better to sit outside for a couple of turns and let others fight it out. I'll be chatty in the games about strategy and options don't worry - I always am

Re: CC tournies
For anyone in the champions league tourney, i noticed this rule earlier, in case you missed it
" but please note my round 12 rule is on this tourni , it goes down as a draw when we hit round 13 ."
I could have got a draw in an away match, but gave up. Something to bear in mind, especially on the bigger maps. I have won a game on treasures of galapagos, butonly have a few turns to find his last 2 territs or it's a draw

Re: CC tournies
also a doubles there but I don't think that my rank is high enough to play (pair needs to exceed 3500 and I'm just over 1600 at present)
