yes stage 10 began with 145 riders but without M/Scott or Jumbo V teams. So both Smurfy's Paw and murf will be relying on Man C and Juventus to do the business for them although Israel could be in the points during the second half of the Giro. The other victims are Darbyand and Malrom from the Serie A ranks.

at the moment stage 11 of the Giro is still due to reach Rimini this evening. Can I reccomend the Fellini film Amarcord (1973) which is all about his boyhood there in the 30's.
WOLVES (Bora) grabbed most of the Tuesday points with a storming Sagan ride all through the stage. CHELSEA (D.Quickstep) still hold the Maglia Rosa but may find it difficult to hold on to in the stages still to come (if they happen !)

they made it to Rimini with rail riding alongside and LEICESTER unc.si (Groupama) doing it again for the 4th time, and Bora (WOLVES) taking second.
Tomorrow stage 12 is a circular tour with several classified climbs passing close to Cesena and not too far from Bologna, who will be in Serie A action at the weekend.
Next planned update of the chart after stage 12 but at the moment INTER M are running away with it as well as performing strongly and scoring goals.
One more plea to make choices for THE ROAD TO ISTANBUL and ......( are any of you reading this ?)

stage 12 proved to be a good one for BURNLEY with INEOS home alone at the finish. Stage 13 today moves Northward away from the Adriatic toward Venice and the Prosecco country. Should be a sprint finish with the usual suspects among the points. More later.

the stage 13 finish saw CHELSEA win by half a wheel and they still hold the Maglia Rosa. Could they be in line to win both TDF and the Giro ? Two weekends of footie may make all the difference plus those hilly stages in week 3. Today's ITT may give us a new stage winner. Next points tally after stage 15 and the weekends Prem games.

BURNLEY (INEOS) take first and second in the stage 14 ITT and score 143pts. Next nearest FULHAM 51 and CHELSEA 49. The start of the higher stuff in stage 15, before the second rest day.
EVERTON & LIVERPOOL draw 2-2 in the early kick-off. All the football points will appear on the next listing.

yes and he built his lead with a very good TT and has worn the Maglia Rosa since stage 3. CHELSEA are helping by scoring a few goals yesterday. The points chart after the week-end should show BURNLEY, WOLVES and CHELSEA leading the way but who will do well on the Stelvio (my happy hunting ground) and other assorted hilly bits in the final week ?
Ten point bonus for the first Prosecco 'snap' to appear.
Stage 15 today and a Monday off.

it was a good stage 16 for SHEFFIELD UTD and Bahrain/Mac with riders 1st and 3rd. D.Quickstep (CHELSEA) improved his pink status a little but will be severely tested in the next 3 days in the high places.

stage 17 was good for SHEFFIELD UTD and ASTON VILLA with 93 and 80 points respectively. Todays Stelvio, stage 18 awards the Cima Coppi, the highest point in the Giro so you will get the daily scores for all the remaining stages plus the weekend footy to end the event and see who is on the podium and has won some cash.
The Serie A version continues through the football season with revised points awards.
Confused ? Just remember which team you are.
Scores after stage 17.
Arsenal 1000. Aston Villa 553. Brighton 364. Burnley 1186. Chelsea 1141. Crystal P 244.
Everton 302. Fulham 663. Leeds 718. Leicester 920. Liverpool 176.Man C 179. Man U 388
Newcastle 372. Sheffield U 589. Southampton 312. Tottenham H 333. WBA 173.
West Ham 109. Wolves 1090.

ARSENAL takes pink from CHELSEA on the Stelvio but BURNLEY (Ineos) score heavily too.
Up to the moment points scores a little later before the flat stage 19 gets going.

The Giro is won by BURNLEY/INEOS but the points total not yet clear until the Prem have completed the week on Monday night. Both CHELSEA/Quickstep and ARSENAL/Sunweb were heavy scorers in the final revue with most of their teams in the top 20.
*****another mention for the need to mention the Serie A teams within the next 24hrs or you will be a 'non starter' for the rest of the season.!

***** maybe not 'non starter' but 'heavily handicapped' might be a better description. Now up to 8 teams who will not have any problems, apart from scoring goals and points of course.
The final points total is going to be very very close between BURNLEY and ARSENAL with CHELSEA getting the edge over WOLVES for 3rd.
Can BURNLEY score a few against Spurs tonight ?
