Might as well give this a go for a bit of fun, I'll sort out a spreadsheet before it all starts. As always entry deadline is KO of first match.

Predict how the 2018 WC will end, from the 16 teams that make it through the group stage right through to the eventual winners.

Here are the 8 starting groups, 2 go through, 2 get knocked out from each.

What we think so far .............

The groups, top 2 make the KOs, 3rd and 4th start their summer holidays. Winners of Groups A, C, E & G face 2nd places respectively from B, D, F & H in the top half of the KO draw

Group A - Uruguay and Russia progress, Egypt and Saudi Arabia go home
Group B - Spain and Portugal through, Iran and Morocco out

Both Group B teams to see off Group A in the KOs.

Group C - France clearly top from 2nd placed Denmark, Australia and Peru virtually friendless
Group D - Argentina also strongly fancied, Croatia ahead of Nigeria and Iceland to get one more game

Both group winners expected to see off the 2nd place from the other group.

Group E - Brazil are favourites to reach the final, one of Serbia, Switzerland and Costa Rica gets to play the winners of ..
Group F - Germany, slight favourites to take the Cup, Mexico, Sweden and Korea are the lambs being slaughtered

Could prove interesting if one of the fancied teams drops a few points early on to miss out on topping the group, would a bit of accidentally on purpose match fixing take place to avoid Brazil meeting Germany in the round of 16? (same applies to France & Argentina)

Group G - Belgium narrowly favoured over England with Panama and Tunisia just there to see which can concede most
Group H - Poland and Colombia to get one more game than Japan and Senegal

Belgium and England to see off Poland and Colombia then to run into the brick walls of Brazil and Germany in the quarters

France to deal with Portugal and Argentina to squeak past Spain in the other quarters - if jimmy ching hadn't picked Spain to miss out in the group stage then they'd be clear favourites for a semi final spot.
