Britain’s first spaceport is planned to be built in the Scottish Highlands. Let’s hope they model it on Mos Eisley.

His biggest concern is seemingly needing to “boldly go” while up there. Only an 11-minute flight, but potentially a long time when you’re 90…

I thought they wore nappies anyway (astronauts, that is, as opposed to 90-year-olds, but point probably stands either way…)

Not sure space tourism is "quite good".

The environmental impact must be awful (almost as awful as the fact we have to worry about that when modern stuff like space exploits should be great)

Proud to be last!

... and it meant I didn't have to scroll through the other 398.

We are a completely made up borough with no real common connection between areas with a completely made up name on top of that so it is quite apt we have a crap logo and so come last.

I don't get the Coldplay hate - I'm not a fan as such but they've done a few good tunes.

A school days close friend of mine has been their head roadie/guitar tech since the beginning - he wrote a book about it 10 years ago...

Roadie: My Life On The Road With Coldplay - Matt McGinn @ Amazon
'He's been part of the Coldplay family since day one, we love him.' COLDPLAY ‘A funny, honest, absorbing account from an unseen member of the World's biggest band.’ SIMON PEGG Longtime Coldplay roadie Matt has taken almost every step with the band over a decade of world tours and 40 million (and counting) record sales. In this, his first book, he reveals what life is like behind the scenes at the pinnacle of rock 'n' roll touring. As Coldplay move from club gigs to arenas and stadiums worldwide, Matt goes with them; faking it as a band member on US chat shows, flirting with Kylie, saving a life on a French motorway and even pitching in with the odd guitar riff in the studio. Roadie provides the definitive glimpse of backstage life. Tales of hurricanes and heatwaves, helicopter chases and private jets, plectrum hunters and projectiles all come together as Matt explains in his unique way - and regardless of the mountain (and gear) to move - that the show must always, always go on.
Only touch base around once a decade it seems - last time was to wish him well as they got ready for their Superbowl halftime show however long ago that was.

Buy his book

Part of my 'hate' is that they did indeed do a few good tunes..... then turned into a
satanistic, up-their-own-arses, crap spewing machine of bland, vanilla anti-music. All that is wrong with music in the rubbish modern world. See also: Sheeran, Edward.

So, yeah, I can take them or leave them.

Has to be a wind up - maybe a (very) early April Fool.

Look at the picture of the queen as well - no way thats an official product thats been misprinted.

maybe some cheap knock off destined for the Oxford street tat shops I guess.

That is possibly the only piece of royal memorabilia that I might be tempted to buy though :-)

The “Psychedelic Movement” beat UKIP (and a bunch of mostly far-right fringe parties) to claim second place in the Southend West by-election  (Of course, Labour, the Lib Dems, Greens and New Farage Corporation didn’t field candidates).

Also makes me laugh how many minor far-right parties there are, and that they can’t even agree with each other in order to unite the nutcase vote…

Unfortunately (one for the other thread) most of them, except the most extreme, now know the best way forward for them is to infiltrate mainstream conservative parties and steer things in their direction from the inside under an “electable” banner.

No, though I have been to Essex (for business not pleasure!) These are UK/England-wide parties (not the Boris work-event kind) I’m referring to though, don’t think most of these candidates were local…

A farmer who used a telehandler to pick up a car and dump it in a road to defend his property has been cleared of dangerous driving and criminal damage.
...
The hill farmer had told the court he was punched by Mr Burns when he first politely asked the men to leave as they were blocking access to his property.

He was aware of an "influx" of youths visiting the area that summer, causing anti-social behaviour, littering and damaging walls, the jury heard.

Mr Hooper claimed Mr Burns had punched him twice through the window of the farm vehicle he was driving, bursting his lip.

"I thought it is time to get out of there, and I said, 'If you don't move it, I will'," he told the court.
I enjoyed the video clip ... especially when it got to this bit

Very clever... except a wrist band is not a body part!

Unless they are being exceptionally clever and know that and are so stressing Star Wars is the best franchise.
