It's been in the city centre at a couple of different locations for at least 35 years if not longer. It does however never do the record day stuff even when listed. These days I browse Discogs for second hand stuff (although their idea of very good+++ is nowhere near as good as my idea of very worn) or Amazon but that probably misses the spirit of what we are talking about here.
Do you happen to remember a record shop in the late 80's / early 90's in Birmingham. Somewhere near Martineau square tucked in a corner I think (left hand corner if you're walking back in the direction of New Street). Had a street level floor and below ground floor. Used to go there regularly when I was younger but can't remember what it was called for the life of me.

Did it have a similar lay out to Virgin in Bull Street but slightly smaller with a pale green frontage? There was one similar to that that I used to go to in the days of The Plastic Factory and Cyclops sounds. Threshold Records springs to mind but I think that was somewhere else.

Doesn’t ring a bell. I’ll remember ne day (and then probably realise that it’s nowhere near Martineau square!)

Went to Sister Ray in soho last night then Sounds of the Universe and Reckless records (also soho) at lunchtime today. Picked up The Perfect Kiss. Probably job st about the only New Order 12” that I don’t have.

I’m in Brum on Saturday so might try and find a few record shops while the girls check out the new Primark :D
