Brendan Rodgers has confirmed Jamie Vardy will be in the Leicester squad to face Aston Villa in Tuesday's Carabao Cup semi-final second leg.

Striker Vardy, 33, picked up a gluteal injury during the Foxes' 4-1 Premier League win over West Ham on Wednesday.

"He's in the squad and we'll give it another full day," said Foxes boss Rodgers. "It's one where, if you're asking me if he's 100%, he may be 80%."

He added: "I'd rather have an 80% Jamie Vardy. He's come through the last two days on the field well - he has a part to play."

Would be nice to get any news from Chelsea or Liverpool regarding Mane and Abraham.

Why the secrecy. Why cant either camp come out and confirm out for a month. Having to rely on newspaper speculation is a pain in the arse much like second guessing Man City starting eleven.

Sorry I don't think that's a good summary. The quote is: Lampard said Abraham has not fractured his ankle but doubt remains over when Chelsea’s leading goalscorer will return. “We were worried about a hairline fracture,” Lampard said. “We still have to see how he develops. He’s not fit for the weekend but whether he’ll be fit for Leicester after that I’m still not sure.”

Klopp press conference:

Sadio Mane is set to miss Liverpool’s trip to West Ham United on Wednesday evening, Jürgen Klopp has confirmed.

“Sadio will not be involved for West Ham and probably not for Southampton,” said the manager. “After that he should be then fine.

“The week we have then after that is for him perfect to get back on track [Winter Break].

“He has a small muscle tear, which is serious enough to keep him out. We were lucky with the injury as well, so it was not that serious.

“But of course, when you have three games in a week then that means he is out for these three games.”

Heung-Min Son is to undergo surgery this week after sustaining a fracture to his right arm.

The South Korea international suffered the injury during our win against Aston Villa on Sunday.

Following surgery, our medical staff shall be reviewing management options for Son’s rehabilitation with the player expected to be sidelined for a number of weeks.

City - PEP 💬 @DeBruyneKev is training but I don’t know if he will be fit for tomorrow. Yeah @aguerosergiokun is okay.@LeroySane19 is getting better. Yeah (I’m excited to have him back).
(Not sure how you can quote a manager and use tw*tter speech)

Liverpool - Jurgen Klopp has confirmed first choice goalkeeper Alisson will not be fit for the upcoming Merseyside derby, or the Champions League last 16 second leg with Atletico Madrid [also left out of Brazil squad for upcoming friendlies]. However, club captain Jordan Henderson will be ready and available to face Atletico. Website also say Robertson is available.

(Forest's owner has coronavirus and allegedly was in contact with some Arsenal players the other week. He also owns Olympiacos who play Wolves this week. Unlikely but possible effect/affect/infect on (/cautious withdrawal/isolation of) Premier League players???)
