Broke/Stoke

Post by SamD »

England suffered another injury blow ahead of their friendlies against Germany and Brazil when goalkeeper Jack Butland suffered a broken finger in training on Thursday.

The Stoke keeper is in 2% of teams in the Telegraph game; their next league match is at Brighton on Mon 20 Nov.

Edit: BBC report Butland had injury assessed this morning, and while he doesn’t require surgery he's likely to be out for four to six weeks.

Joel Matip - not travelled for European midweek game but "he is in Liverpool and full training, so all good... I think there will be a big chance he will be ready for Saturday, but there was no chance for this game - it was a little bit too quick, but it’s all good."

Matt Lowton and Ben Mee are both available for Burnley's trip to Brighton this weekend, but Stephen Ward faces a battle to be fit.

.... Ward's fitness would be assessed on Friday ......
Lowton and Mee, who are both back in training and fit to face the Seagulls.

Asked about Ward's fitness, Dyche said: "We'll wait and find out. He's had a down day today (Thursday), it's second day recovery.
"We'll find out tomorrow. He's had a knee problem, we're protecting it a bit.
"Matt Lowton will be available, as will Ben Mee."

West Ham midfielder Manuel Lanzini charged with deceiving match official by FA

Lanzini is facing a two-match ban. (effectively 1 game ban for fantasy games)

West Ham and Lanzini have until 6pm on Tuesday to decide whether to accept a two-match ban or to contest the charge.

Sky Sports News understands the Independent Regulatory Commission would review and decide before West Ham's Carabao Cup quarter-final match against Arsenal at the Emirates on Tuesday.

There was some previous confusion regarding the cut-off for 5 yellow card suspensions. This has been clarified today by the FA. The deadline is inclusive of this weekends matches (assuming they all take place) and not 31st December.
