Manuel Lanzini will fly back to London after Argentina confirmed he will not be fit to take part in the Rio Olympics.

Lanzini's involvement could have seen him miss the start of the Premier League season with West Ham, however, the Argentine Football Association confirmed a knee injury has ended his hopes of participating at the Games.

The 23-year-old could now be available for the opening game of the new campaign against Chelsea on August 15.

Sky Sports are also saying that Per Mertesacker could be out of action for up to five months with a serious knee injury.
EDIT: Injury confirmed by Arsenal

Liverpool have been rocked by the news that goalkeeper Loris Karius will miss the start of the season after breaking a bone in his hand.

The German shot-stopper, who was hurt in Wednesday night's defeat to Chelsea in Pasadena, is expected to be sidelined for eight to 10 weeks.

No official word but:

"only a muscle injury and no dislocation" the Echo speculate that "It’s unlikely he will recover in time to face Burnley on Saturday but Liverpool are hopeful that his absence won’t extend beyond that"

Official word:-

Klopp on Mane: “It's not that serious. At the moment I have no idea if he could be available for the weekend or not but I don't think it will take a long time. It would have been better without this situation but these things will happen and you can't avoid this. At first it wasn't too good but now all is okay.”

James Milner and Daniel Sturridge: “Milly and Daniel are back in full training,” .

Lucas is in a good way, and has warmed up with us. Maybe today or tomorrow we will see him in full team training.

Mama [Sakho] is in a better way. He's not part of team training but not too far away from it.”

John Terry out for about 10 days due to ankle injury on Sunday.

Palace's Connor Wickham didn't play against M'boro due to minor injury.

P.S. For those that haven't noticed there's a shortcut to an Injury Search link at the top left of each forum page (next to the 1 day latest topics link). This searches the forum on 10 injury related terms so may be helpful in quickly picking up new injury news.

Lukaku, Baines and Jagielka all fit.

KDB could be back, he's ahead of progress apparently.
