Re: Crap managers who keep getting jobs
Not so much "crap" managers as uninspiring, safe option, seen it all before types... Moyes, Pardew, Hodgson and Allardyce all getting Premier League jobs in the space of a month or two. All we need now is Stoke to sack Hughes and re-appoint Pulis...
None of these are terrible managers, but they've probably all seen better days. But middling PL clubs keep opting for them while British managers under 50 struggle to progress their careers.

Re: Crap managers who keep getting jobs
I seen that on twitter yesterday. The same 4 - 5 managers swapping jobs for last 12 years . But if David Moyes get reulgated with west ham he falls off the merry go round for sure, and has to play in championship. Something he didn't want to do with Sunderlandforestfan wrote: ↑29 Nov 2017, 22:36 Not so much "crap" managers as uninspiring, safe option, seen it all before types... Another one off the dole queue and back in a job (albeit in the Championship):

Re: Crap managers who keep getting jobs
West Brom sack Tony Pulis because they don't believe he can help them avoid relegation.
Swansea, in an even worse situation than the Baggies sack Paul Clement for a likewise reason........ and are then tipped to employ Tony Pulis.
Its like hiring a roofing company to do some repairs, but after it still leaks, and then turn to a firm who caused the roof to collapse in the house next door.

Re: Crap managers who keep getting jobs
Allardyce is ideal if you are worried about relegation. He can save a club a lot of money. He might as well be considered a specialist. I doubt Everton will keep him long term but at least they will be in the EPL when they decide who to hire going forward. It would be better if they just held onto a younger manager with potential even if they drop down for a season but money talks.forestfan wrote: ↑29 Nov 2017, 22:36 Not so much "crap" managers as uninspiring, safe option, seen it all before types... Re: Crap managers who keep getting jobs
I think Monk has his own category of decent managers who get sacked when they’re doing reasonably well.
Considering the two managers sacked following the Wednesday v Boro game, Swansea picked the wrong guy IMO

And that Monk had already been there. Has returning ever worked?

Mourinho’s second spell at Chelsea wasn’t a complete disaster, he did win a title and build most of the side that won another under Conte...
Eddie Howe coming back to Bournemouth didn’t work out badly either.

Re: Crap managers who keep getting jobs
Having failed to tempt Martin O'Neil away from Ireland, Stoke have plumped for Paul Lambert.
I can only assume this is on the strength of his Wolves team beating Liverpool in the FA cup a year ago.

He royally messed up at Villa though. Scraping the barrel? I think they are done for now unless Shaqiri pulls his finger out.

Steve Cotterill has just completed his 6 month assignment at Birmingham.
Second time he has been sacked in Nottingham.

As soon as he was appointed I put money on them being relegated (4/1) even though they were a decent distance from the bottom teams. Disappointed he's gone this soon from that angle!

I wondered if it was the third, as he also managed Notts County once, but it appears he left of his own accord there...foxinthebox2001 wrote: ↑03 Mar 2018, 19:40 Steve Cotterill has just completed his 6 month assignment at Birmingham.

Didn’t take Chris Coleman too long to rediscover his club form, 5 wins from 29 games, and rumoured he made Sunderland worse.

Goodness knows why he took the job on, Fergie would've struggled to turn that rabble around.foxinthebox2001 wrote: ↑29 Apr 2018, 13:17 Didn’t take Chris Coleman too long to rediscover his club form, 5 wins from 29 games, and rumoured he made Sunderland worse.

Re: Crap managers who keep getting jobs
He can’t be worse than Barnes, surely... that’s like an East Midlands team trying to outdo David Plattblahblah wrote: ↑04 May 2018, 13:15Whatever Celtic can do (Barnes): Rangers can make look sensibleTacalabala wrote: ↑04 May 2018, 13:11 Gerrard at Rangers? We don’t know if he’s a crap manager yet as he’s yet to take charge of a game. And we certainly don’t know if he will keep getting jobs before he leaves his first one! But certainly needs to work miracles to stop Celtic getting to 10 in a row over the next few years. And maybe not lose to the fourth placed side from the Andorran league in the Europa League extra-super-preliminary round before the World Cup’s over
