Great captains rarely make great (or evern competent) managers, that’s well documented. Bobby Moore, Billy Bremner, Bryan Robson, Tony Adams, Roy Keane... on-field leadership is a lot different to creating a winning side from the dugout and training ground.

Charlie Adam to go up and wobble around the middle of the park?

Sturridge could get 100 a season up there if he could stay fit for more than a fortnight.

Could get some decent young Liverpool players on loan... although the traditional connection with Celtic might make that more controversial.

Yes, very - although they were the Protestant Club....

It seems so very wrong to me.

Looks like one CMWKGJ replacing another in West London... Ian Holloway (who has achieved very little of note since getting Blackpool up) set to be replaced by the Wally with the Brolly at QPR.

I thought of this when I read that....

So where does Hollway go? Swansea?

I think he’s firmly in the lower Championship/upper League One market these days. Can’t see a club with serious PL ambitions considering him. Coleman might still have a shot at that one though I guess...

Of course, Swansea went down three years running last time they left the top flight, didn’t they... could get through most of the names in this thread in that time!

Good luck to them after Sunderland..

Fick Mick is still looking?

Leicester wanted Wagner.

Hughes could be available? Moyes? SAM, almost certainly? (Silva is jesused there?)

I was in Leeds and saw a local newspaper headline about "a new tack".

I'd take the ex Swan at Portman Road, cnt say Sol floats my boat.. Arsene is available and no fee?

A bit of mis-relocation here  Pellegrini clearly isn’t a crap manager (change the last letter, though, and you’re onto something...) even if he perhaps underachieved at City and Real given the resources. I suppose it’s Wally’s mention that got it moved to this thread!

Darren Moore, well, he deserves a chance, even if he may well end up another in the line of over-promoted caretakers. At least West Brom have a plan, unlike their relegation companions.

Yeah, I suppose crapness is a matter of opinion anyway... though there’s a few where there’s little argument!

"Big Dave" lives down the road. Trust me, even if he does crap, you wouldn't say it too his face (I don't' think I've seen a bigger/bulkier footballer). Baggies through and through though, so deserves a chance.

He does seem slightly too nice to succeed.

I remember going to see Colchester beat West Brom in the Cup once when Moore played. He was getting some real stick from behind the goal and giving some back while looking VERY scary. Glad I wasn't in the front row.

Yes tbf I don't think I posted it here but may as you said have been moved.

Interesting moves in the betting markets, not always very reliable I know and more especially when the volume of total bets is so thin anyway, but nevertheless .....

Just to be clear i''m not including these under crap managers either as that's very subjective anyway...

David Moyes installed at around 6/4 frontrunner to take over at Stoke,

and yesterday's news and I think already posted anyway...

Graham Potter leads the odds for next Swansea manager although at fairly long odds which may indicate they have no idea.

Marco Silva to Everton is now looking done. (There is some detail behind it but not putting that here)

Moyes at Stoke would be a good fit for both manager and club IMO. Under Hughes, Stoke had lost their way a bit and Lambert was never the answer. Stoke need to get back to that "up and at 'em siege mentality" they had under Pulis, when they ruffled a few feathers of the big boys.

I must admit, I didn't realise Schteve had taken over at QPR. That's a shame because no more Hollo :( One person I really like, even though he may not be a top, top manager. Hopefully he will bounce back somewhere.

He didn't last long at the head of the betting as now known he's not even under consideration and consequently is now well out of the running, always an ever present danger with extremely thin markets that almost anyone and everyone has their time at the top and possibly why they can largely be ignored.

Gary Rowett now evens for the Stoke job, with Mick McCarthy also saying he fancies it. No idea if this is how they're thinking but perhaps things may become clearer soon.

Rowett seems a decent manager, though unable to prevent Derby’s traditional late season Sheep Dip... going to Stoke would seem a bit of a sideways move after their relegation though.

Not crap but with thread now metamorphosing into a general manager one...

'Emery in Arsenal talks'

http://www.skysports.com/share/11380747

And the first real doubts on Arteta who wants assurances over his role and a large say in transfer policy and quite prepared to stay at City unless given them

Going back to crap (there’s a song parody there somewhere...) I just caught a bit of MLS and discovered Montreal Impact were managed by none other than Chocolate Fire-Garde. He once again appears to be proving himself as much use as... an ashtray on a motorbike, as they lost to 10-man LA Galaxy (Zlatan sent off for a petulant slap). Looking at the table they’re second from bottom of their conference, having played three more games than the only team below them!

Strange decision to give him the job for 2 years, might as well let the young pretender learn on the job and hope a striker turns up from somewhere? Perhaps more importantly they need a new genetic researcher to scout players with Irish grandparents (or ones who once went to Dublin and had a pint of Guinness...)
