Guess Thames would have to step in then... there was actually a Football League club called Thames 100 or so years ago!

You’ll have missed the fact that most of those ITV regions disappeared about 30 years ago then!

That's as good news for United fans as Jose's firing was for Spurs fans.

If Liverpool are awarded this as a default and it gets them into the CL, United fans won’t be impressed (nor Leicester fans for that matter...)

No obvious reschedule slot, anyway. There’s a case for awarding it to Liverpool by default but they might be scared off by the prospect of legal action if that decides the CL places. Otherwise it could end up being played after all the other fixtures are completed, which also gives the prospect of Liverpool knowing what they need to do (or it being completely meaningless...)

If WBA v Liverpool from Sunday 16th (when there is no Man U game due to their opponents being in the cup final) is moved forward to midweek (when Man U play on 12th) then Liverpool v Man U can be on 15th/16th.

Only solution I can see other than playing today (which may be happening as a top secret operation. Shhhhh  )

If they were to just say it was played behind closed-even-to-TV-cameras doors and finished 0-0, nobody would question it

Well yeah, you don’t want to end up in the Europa Vauxhall Conference or whatever it’s called (no idea of the scheduling for that!)

For CL you almost definately  need 5 wins out of 5 and to hope Leicester slip up elsewhere (the fact you play Leicester and they also play Chelsea obviously is a big benefit).

Leicester are ahead of Chelsea but need one of them to slip up twice.

Going back to United..... they could be guaranteed to a) not win the title and b) qualify for the CL by the next time they play.
