Thought I'd make another point regarding utd's penalties.

I've heard here and there about how Fernandes won't be as attractive if utd don't get 10+ penalties this year. But Fernandes was only in the Utd squad for the last 5 penalties they got in the PL, and he only took 4 of those. So he'd only need 4 penalties over the season to equal those exact points, which sounds very plausible. Rashford on the other hand took 8 of their penalties last season, so I guess he's the one to lose out on points in this scenario.

To equal his points from last season? 117? No - he'd be expected to get pro rata that for a full season.

No, you misunderstood. I'm talking specifically about the points he got for penalties, not his total points. To equal those exact penalty points that he got last season he'd only need to score 4 penalties.

No. you misunderstand. His tally of points is not a full season's, he'll be expected to score at about the same rate over the full season to justify his price (approximately). So 4 pens is not enough - that's only half a season's worth.
