Think he needs to off load the dead wood for sure as he didn't even have the confidence to bring them on the other night when we were out on our feet, would much rather a smaller quality squad that you can trust to bring on πŸ€·πŸ»β€β™‚οΈ, sell that 8 might even raise the grealish fee πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚and like I said wouldn't even harm our squad, the amount of wages saved might be in credit πŸ‘and help the instalment for funding sancho

I am not sure Grealish is a good buy at however uch Villa want. He looks like a big fish in a little pond kind of player and goes AWOL for a whackof matches on the bounce.

Apparently he wasn't impresed at being told that he wouldn't start every match.....

Agree with all that and he won't start every game but I think he has the potential to improve plus would be handy to give pogs or Bruno a rest, may move to the next level with better players around him?

Presume Henderson is returning (or heading elsewhere???) as Sheff U are spending Β£18m on a new keeper.

Who they sold for 1m?

I think they should go for it this season. Buying another (as has been mentioned) sounds dafy and they could get cash for de Gea.....

Plan B would to be sell both and get Oblak?

Darbyand wrote: ↑20 Jul 2020, 12:21 Horrible performance from the CBs yesterday. Assuming Maguire is here to stay we need an upgrade on Lindelof. Your average League 2 CB would have got goalside of Giroud yesterday (and the player for the Southampton equaliser). He's got no pace, loses the majority of his headers and physical battles. If budgets are tight I think the likes of Ake or Mings could do a better job.
Mings it is then. Seriously though, Lindelof is garbage. Must be replaced as number 2 CB choice.

We've wasted too much time and money in recent years replacing rubbish with rubbish, or in some cases just adding more rubbish to rubbish. Upgrade properly or just don't bother.

FWIW I think Lindelof is shite and will never make it in the Prem, he's not up to the physical demands

Never rated him.

I had a feeling we were going to lose to a simple long ball or cross. I felt like we needed a natural winger as Rashford and Greenwood were crap out wide, and when out wide it was very slow and with short passes allowing Sevilla too get all players back and swarm around the box. All the best chances came to Martial or came from Martial, but we just couldn't finish. Was screaming take of greenwood or rashford for Ighalo and put Martial out wide.

Unwanted record (via OPTA) - Manchester United in 2019-20 (League Cup, FA Cup, Europa League) are the first ever English top-flight team to fall at the semi-final stage of three different competitions within the same campaign.

lol thats stupid, greenwood shooting impresses me at the moment, but that's it. Today he was ineffective along with Rashford even though Rashford won a pen from nice play from Martial. Other then that ?

And is it right that in all three Romero got them there, and De Gea replaced him for the Semi?

Shall we revisit the thread in another 12 years or more then ?

Mason Greenwood born 1.10.2001 (same date as my mum) 18 year 9 mos. 46 apps - 15 goals

Michael 0wen born 14.12.1979 ( me and my son were at his debut at Wimbledon when he scored) 18 year 5 mos. 46 apps -24 goals

Robbie Fowler born 9.4.1975 ( along with Gerrard scored 8 goals against United) 18 year 6 mos . 46 apps - 29 goals. or for good measure 48 apps- 32 goals at 18 year 7 mos

Perhaps if he had more minutes he might be up there with God and Michael Owen but you'll never know.

Incase u missed it first time around.

He is not the best nearly 19 year old as I have proven.

Fowler and Owen proved them selves. As the above shows

Little update as United's season is over with their 3rd failure in cup competitions at the semi-final stage ( that's a record you know) regarding Bills Love-in with Mason Greenwood.

Greenwood 53 apps 17 goals

Michael Owen 53 apps 29 goals

Fowler( God) 53 apps 34 goals

As far as im aware Greenwood has yet to score a goal with his head either( not that Owen did much but Fowler was partial to the headed goal on a regular basis even though he wasn't a bigfella.

Fowler (after his breakthrough season) 34 apps- 18 goals, went on to score 98 goals in the next 3 seasons in 154 apps.

Greenwood has a long way to go, to catch a player you don't particularly rate in Fowler.

and i quote you.

The lad is already better with both feet than either Fowler or Owen were and can finish just as good with both as Fowler could with his left alone IMO - I don't need any stats to see that with my own eyes. That we haven't played (flogged) him as much as Liverpool did back in the day is of little relevance other than the fact that he'll likely have a longer career and be a superior player when he gets to 26.

A quick last question for Dot though, my son (11) is thinking about giving SDT a crack this season in my name. Is there a beginner's guide/top 10 tips that you're aware of? I had quick root through the forum but it's all the in-depth stuff you'd expect from people who've been playing it for years.

I was celebrating Manchester's heroic weekend in Europe where both clubs thought they only needed to turn up to progress.

And seeing Man United become the first club to choke 3 times in the same season at the semi-final stage if you must know. It's a record that will be repeated many times over the years as i doubt it will ever happen again.

i won a decent stash on Lyon after all it was madness they were priced at 12/1. Shame i didn't win anything on Seville as they were only 2/1.

Isn't it weird that Lyon beat City before when they took them for granted , much as Seville beat United before when they also took it for granted in Europe.

whats the stat 35 shots and just 2 penalty conversions to show from that amazing strike force of Rashford, Martial oh and not forgetting Greenwood.
