Regarding the Maguire incident. Pundits keep comparing it to the Son sending off earlier in the season. They appear to have forgotten that the card was rescinded. Perhaps yesterday's officials bore this in mind when making their decision?

Where's the Liverpool thread or is this one doubling up these days? Some very sniffy reactions from Klopp and the players because AM, you know, put a bit of effort in and didn't let Liverpool walk over them.

Athletic are hardly Bruge. But why we talking about Liverpool in the Man Utd thread unless u think 69,000 scousers voted in that Sky Sports Poll that Maguire ought to have been sent off :(

You can tell we played well today as we haven't heard anything from the plastic scouser who never misses an opportunity! Fernandes was superb today - he was totally running the show.

What a difference it makes having someone creative in the side that the forwards are confident can play them in with a clinical pass. Good to see McTominay back from injury as well - suddenly the midfield looks a lot stronger than it did 1 month ago.

Bruno looks promising, and definitely 4231 with him playing. He looks very tempting in FPL, possibly more do than Martial?

I was only half watching, but Jones was AWOL as was Greenwood, apart from his goal. Ighalo looked more than OK 👏👏👏

Fernandes is more naturally a box to box no. 8 rather than a no. 10 so could play in multiple formations IMO. Which is good as you don't want to be totally predictable and may need to flex from time to time.

My point was more that Pogba doesn't fit in the midfield 😉

Are you tempted FPL wise?

Certainly, but I already have Martial so from an FPL perspective probably nothing in it as Martial a greater goal threat but Fernandes more like to get assists and bonuses. Other areas need greater attention right now with BGW arrived...

Fernandes on set pieces including pens now - with the pace of Martial / James / Greenwood he's going to get opportunities. If I didn't already have Martial I would go for Fernandes.

And yes, now that we have Fernandes I have no problem getting shot of Pogba, but would be nice to have more than one world class creative midfielder in there to cover for injuries etc

Oi Wilko if you took a look at the top 50 in the Sun ( a million entries) you would find me not once but twice. You could even check on my latest transfer before today. I took a Liverpool player out which might surprise you again.
An even bigger surprise would be who I replaced him with.

In fact I only went and done the same thing last week.

Sorry to see its upset you that I've not been on today, obviously I've been busy eating rats Suggs.

Lukaku no. 1 on the list? :o

All it says is how poor Serie A is nowadays with Juve walking it every year. Unless you think that Smalling has now also become World Class given all the plaudits he is now receiving as well? Inter has just bought a few Prem rejects and they are challenging Juve again.

Lukaku was part of the problem in the dressing room, and selling him was totally the right thing to do. It was not replacing him when knowing for months that he was going that was the grave error here, and some of us at least know where the fault for that lies.
The utter arrogance of a Man U fan encapsulated in one post there. Just dismiss the whole Italian league as poor as it doesn’t fit the narrative.

An Italian league where Atalanta have spanked Valencia in the UCL. Guess the Spanish league should be similarly dismissed too ?

Well, all the leagues are pretty crap below the top two or three teams, to be fair.

Scoring 17 goals in Serie A still has to be quite tough, though, given the more defensive mindset of Italian football. Lukaku just wasn’t quite working at United, for whatever reason, the mistake was not replacing him, rather than the fact they chose to move him on.

The arrogance of a United fan whose views match those of UEFA's County Coefficients, which now places the Italian League well below Germany never mind England and Spain. I don't think it's my narrative that doesn't fit here.
