Would be interesting to look into the bank accounts of the people who presided over this appeal in a couple of years time, not to mention their properties abroad.
Anyone know their names.

Bizarre from UEFA as it appears they have a 5 year equivalent of statute of limitations and much of the allegations pre-date that. Set themselves up to fail.

Neville on Sky is really good on this.
re hacking: I'd like to see a Forensic Accountant and Investigative Journalist turn up at Anfield, OT etc and ask for access to all the Accounts, Receipts, Invoices etc

Re: Man City and FFP
Wise words from Klopp:
"But I don't think it was a good day for football yesterday, to be honest. FFP is a good idea. It is there for protecting teams and the competition, so that nobody overspends and have to make sure the money they want to spend is based on the right sources.
"I'm from Germany, we have a club basis not an owner one. You have to get your licence every year. FFP is a good idea - but it's not up to me to judge it (City decision) I just think we should all stick to FFP rules. I really hope it stays. It gives some borders.
"If the richest clubs and countries can do what they want to do, then that makes it difficult. That would lead to a world league, it would depend on who owns the clubs and not the names of the clubs."

Yep re Jose.
Its been vaguely interesting to people defending\attacking the decision with no mention to the Appeal winning on technicalities, and not because they didn't do it ie it could not be legally proved within the 5 year threshold......

Jose is an idiot. They were found guilty. Just not on as many counts as originally.thebillfella wrote:Tottenham boss Jose Mourinho: "If you're not guilty you shouldn't have a fine. I don't know if Manchester City are guilty or not but either way it's a disgraceful decision."

They were actually 'guilty' of a lot more but got off by hiding stuff and being evasive until the time limits were up.

And nobody can voice the real reason the were found not guilty.
£££££££££££ talks
everyone knows it , nobody will voice it.
Nearly as bad as the 2015 corruption case where Blatter, Platini, and a dozen others got found guilty of corruption. Lets not even go to Qatar getting the World Cup and the rigged votes( for cash)

I think the point (very black and white I know) that Jose is making is; if you are guilty you should be banned, if you are not guilty then why the fine?murf wrote: ↑14 Jul 2020, 23:00Jose is an idiot. They were found not guilty of the main charge so the ban was removed.
They were found guilty of other charges so were fined.
I'm sure even Jose can follow that....

City steam into the gap after a temporary freeze on sponsorship deals linked to club owners, Newcastle will be watching with interest no doubt.
Manchester City's UAE-government ownership has confirmed two official partnerships with UAE-government run companies within the space of 48 hours. Interesting timing.

Presumably had it all set up ready for when the ban ended. Where is the specific issue now?Darbyand wrote: ↑06 Jan 2022, 10:59 City steam into the gap after a temporary freeze on sponsorship deals linked to club owners, Newcastle will be watching with interest no doubt.

Countries aren't supposed to own football clubs. This just heightens the farce of the PL pretending that's not the case. The UAE is funding City and soon Saudi Arabia will do the same for NUFC.murf wrote: ↑06 Jan 2022, 11:55Presumably had it all set up ready for when the ban ended. German journalists still going after City. Wish I could say the same for British counterparts who prefer to talk breathlessly about what a good team they are and the shock transfer of power in Manchester.

Are they still getting away with this stuff?
But then Charity FC seem to have hit away with stating the requirement of at least £1bn investment in the next 12 months.

Is it that much of a story? Most of it's old rumours some of which citeh's lawyers took down in the CAS? As for the Mancini stuff, it was 10 years ago (before FFP even?)...

Well it's the topics of a live Premier League investigation so it'll be interesting to see if they can nail it. The abuse of owner/sponsorship rules is completely blatant.
Most of the CAS stuff was due to Uefa stupidly using evidence older than their own equivalent of a statute of limitations iirc.

Yep, guilty as hell but got off on a techicality(/UEFA screw up) - basically by having more money to spend on lawyers than UEFA.Darbyand wrote:Well it's the topics of a live Premier League investigation so it'll be interesting to see if they can nail it.
