I would be very SURPRISED if that'll be the outcome

At one point a second Rooney goal and France getting one against Sweden would have won it for you.

it was a team effort mate - not only did I end up dropping 8 points with a last-minute captain change to ribery but also somehow ended up deciding to sub out a 2-pointer rather than 1-pointer :?

anyway it'll be a close one I think!

edit: think we might be through mate! on the strength of 5 points?!

Good work Taca..
I agree. Much more interesting playing Tacas' game than the game itself.

Trouble is I might not be playing it after tonight.
Especially as I rolled the dice to change my captain to Benzema.
Calculator time for Taca I think.
I think we got through by our "rings of our skinny skin skin" or technically by a superior goal difference of 1 (I think!)

FYI - I won't post the tables and quarter final line-up until either the MD is completed, or tomorrow morning (which ever comes first).

Interestingly, provided there are no late-late amendments by UEFA.com, we have a 0-0! Has that ever happened on 5AS?

I wonder if 'points shite' should be just one word, e.g. "Del Horno is pointshite because he's always injured."

Well, I hope you are pleased with yourself - selfishly getting us eliminated.

Note thought that Droughton and I have never lost a Euro FF pairs game ever.

One small thing Tac, you seem to have mixed up the order of the quarter finals, does this mean we're going to be playing the winners of Ukrain/Croatia after smashing Greece?

It was only a dodgy "over the line" decision that knocked us out. GLT is required now!

Any mix up in terms of order is merely circumstance, our tournament follows the exact same 'tree' as the real thing.

@TheTon - I had intended on doing a preview, but things have got in the way domestically. I'll put out some stats come night's end:grin:

Looks like the Russian march on the Euros has gathered a bit of pace. Hope GM and myself dont go the same way as Dzagoev and co.
My spartak team mates, Crispybits and Ashers were so unlucky not to follow us into the quarter finals, going out in a 2 way draw. Unbelievable...
So Billfella and Zoolander are also through.
Next up for Russia are the Germans, aka mowatson and tenpinterry .
Plenty of respect will be shown , but the Anglo/Belguim alliance that is team Russia, fancy at least another week in Poland.

Despite a shocking last group game perfomance, theZoofellas' Greece are through on merit being the 4th top scoring team in the competition. Next up is a tasty encounter between the European kings of 2004 and 1992!
