I've twisted from Cheryshev to Cavani. Also have Ronaldo, Isco and Varela today, just fancying Cavani against that Saudi defence.
Pavard, Coutinho, Kimmich, Kane the backups.

Looks like another Cavani fail. Uruguay don't seem that prolific when it comes to scoring goals.

Re: 2018 McDonalds FIFA World Cup Fantasy
I didnt even know there was wildcard option! When is the best time to play it you think? Before 3rd group round or QF/SF?

Re: 2018 McDonalds FIFA World Cup Fantasy
Is there one wildcard during the group stages?
Or do we get another one in the knock out round?
I forgot about the 2nd round deadline so missed the boat on making any transfers.

Re: 2018 McDonalds FIFA World Cup Fantasy
Yeah, its a toss up between R3 and QF for me. The thing about R3 is getting in players who's teams 'need' to get a result..eg Portugal vs Iran.MoSe wrote: ↑21 Jun 2018, 03:24Your call.
It depends on your needs and preferences

We have a "system WC" for Last 16.
So if you play it for R3, it would only "last" or "serve" for 1 turn, as you'd get the built-in WC the round after.
Could be useful if first two rounds revealed must haves that you miss, and R3 juicy fixtures you don't cover. But it would only make sense if your XV is truly shite or if you intend to gamble to exploit R3 chances. Bear in mind that already qualified or eliminated teams could make unpredictable line up changes for their last match, making you waste your WC on players who get dropped.
A QF or SF WC would allow you to set up your XI for the last 3 or 2 rounds, making up for unexpected KO eliminations which left too many holes in your XV, the FTs for KO rounds are fewer in this WC than in Euro16 (and maybe than in WC14, but I can't be sure)

Feels like Kane is my best option but he is that last day risk.

Re: 2018 McDonalds FIFA World Cup Fantasy
Round 3 could be tricky, teams already through could rest some first teamers and let the others have a run out.I think I favour using it later on balance.

Do I stick with Eriksen's 14 pts or take a punt on Coutinho and then Lukaku again?

This moronic trend of both teams wearing their away strip continues, after Denmark-Australia yesterday and Iran-Spain the day before that.

Re: 2018 McDonalds FIFA World Cup Fantasy
Keepers do get points for 'missed' pens in other fantasy games, but not this one unfortunatly. At least i dont have to put to gamble on Courtois now.
I could do with some unexpected points from Mueller next..looks like not many have him.

Have coutinho captain with 14 points.
Twist to Kimmich then Kane or stick?

Same boat only Lukaku then Kane.Highlander12 wrote: ↑23 Jun 2018, 09:32 Have coutinho captain with 14 points.

Im thinking either needs to score twice to make the change worth it;
Forward (C) brace is 20, plus 7 from Coutinho, total 27 points
Coutinho (C) is 14, plus 10 from Forward brace, total 24 points
3 points difference.
Not sure its worth the gamble.
In your case,
Kimmich(C) assist and CS is 18, plus 7 from Coutinho, total 25 points
Coutinho (C) is 14, plus 9 from Kimmich assist and CS, total 23 points
2 point difference.
At least you'd have Kane to come after if it didnt work out.

It’s a bit of a tricky one. Worse that can happen is you end on 4 points from captain + 7 original captain. 11 compared to the 16 if kept coutinho original captain. Seems like small losses and small gains.

7 points is a definite stick for me. Not one of my players has got more than 7 points so far - Coutinho twice. In fact, he's the only player I have who's even scored a goal

Re: 2018 McDonalds FIFA World Cup Fantasy
Ive stuck on Salah 8 pt captain. Its true a striker needs to score two goals to even make it worth while switching. Lukaku or Kane could be big points hauls though.

Ha, typical... All of a sudden I have a player with more than 7 points!
Edit - sorry he's on 7 currently, forgot he was a forward there.

Re: 2018 McDonalds FIFA World Cup Fantasy
It is tempting. And after losing their first match, Panama cant afford to sit back and defend; theyre going to have to try and take the game to England if they want to progress from the groups and that could leave them exposed at the back...

Didn't even think about touching England players before the WC, and now look at Kane or Stones
