choooo choooo
Thanks folks,... managed to get 5-3-2 without losing Valencia - good times
Now I just need to work out whether I'm moving my captains armband from Konstantinos Manolas to Messi!!
Cheers

Pi55ed off. Was 11th couple of night's ago, like I said on here. Brought in my 3 Argentinians and switched captain to Messi....just logged on and it's showing as "no captain assigned".....

Re: Formation switching bug in the MCD WC2014 game?
Sorry for acting a bit thick. I need reassurance on this area. I've read the rules, this thread, and other forums - but I'm still not 100% sure
Currently I'm playing 5-3-2. All my defenders have played, but I would like to remove one of them and go 4-3-3 and put in a forward who hasn't played. The defender I wish to remove is on left hand side, not on the right side (Rojo is on the right and I don't wish to lose him!)
Am I correct in thinking that if I remove the defender I wish who is on the left, then change to 4-3-3, then add my forward player, this means Rojo remains in my team?
Thanks
By the way, despite this game format showing great potential, like UFPL, the mechanics of it has been a nightmare - the worst I've encountered in FF! To think they've had four years to get it right. But it's FIFA after all so not surprised really.

So what if I want to sub out a defender for a midfielder? Will it adjust the formation? I have no available defenders so I can't do a straight swap.

Remove defender
Change formation
Insert midfielder
A bit like changing nappies: remove, clean put on new one

Re: Formation switching bug in the MCD WC2014 game?
Can you only change your formation once a day?
I changed my formation from 3-5-2 to 3-4-3 this morning to bring in Lukaku and now what to change it back to 3-5-2 to bring in my last midfielder.
Doesn't seem to let me change my formation first and then drop Lukaku for Bedtalab, or do I have to transfer Lukaku first then change the formation and bring in Bentalab? It seems to allow me to transfer out Lukaku but I am not sure it will let me bring in Bentalab. I risk losing the 3 points if it wouldn't allow it.

Not sure about the number of formation changes in a day but I had to drop Lukaku first to go from a 4-4-2 to a 4-5-1.

Currently regret gambling Neymar's 7 points for Lukaku.

Re: Formation switching bug in the MCD WC2014 game?
My guess is Kombarov will be dropped to your bench automatically when changing your formation to a 3-5-2 as Kombarov is the most right-sided defender.goke313 wrote:afraid to drop Komborav first then switch to 3-5-2

Re: Formation switching bug in the MCD WC2014 game?
Having seen the problems that some people highlighted earlier, I determined not to make any formation changes and to stick with my original formation. I also don't totally trust myself to follow the instructions in this thread to get the formation change right. I'm sticking with this as it also seems to me that any potential loss of points of refusing to change formation will be very limited.
Does anyone disagree with me on the bit in bold as if anyone does so persuasively, I may have to reconsider. Although that would go against my general approach to fantasy which is to stick to the simple and not spend time trying to maximise absolutely everything.

Re: Formation switching bug in the MCD WC2014 game?
I've made 3 formation changes and it's worked fine for me. In fact, I'd say it worked well as once I'd chosen who to take out it even greyed out the formations that I couldn't move to without losing another player.

I did change my formation twice today. You have to first commit to transferring out a player then change the formation to bring in somebody from your bench.

OK, he's doing rather well. An assist, a goal and half a game to go. All those points... Sitting on my benchSmurphy's Paw wrote:Thiseagle224 wrote:Not sure about the number of formation changes in a day but I had to drop Lukaku first to go from a 4-4-2 to a 4-5-1.
