Its back again ... I've set up a FISO League for this SuperBru Golf 2016 competition and anyone that is interested is welcome to join ... first competition is The Augusta Masters starting APRIL 7th.
Invites have gone out to all participants last year. All newcomers welcome.
SuperBru run a number of Golf comps as standalone competitions. In parallel with this, I run an overall Predictor Championship.
Last year's thread is here
To those new to the game ...
The Predictor Championship will run across the eight golf competitions that SuperBru will cover during the season.
You don't have to participate in them all, but this Predictor Championship is designed for you if you intend to participate in most.
The pool code for FISO Aces is perimoor.
Competitions listed for 2015 were: (with 2016 dates inserted where available)
APR 7 - 10 The Masters (2015 Metal Warlord; 2016 HORTON)
MAY 12 - 15 THE PLAYERS Championship, Sawgrass (2015 Polarbear; 2016 graysman)
JUN 16 - 19 US Open, Oakmont (2015 Topspur; 2016 SE)

You are welcome to join the League regardless of the number of comps you intend participating in.
Here is some blurb provided by SuperBru regarding the format of their Golf comps in 2015 (it is still relevant)

We are changing the way we run Golf tournaments on SuperBru for 2015, and here are some more details and rationale.
Scoring system
Last year’s scoring system was too complicated, with the translation of golfers’ scores into SuperBru points not easy to calculate whilst you’re watching golf. By contrast, the standalone Nedbank Golf Challenge had much simpler scoring which made the tournament easy to follow.
Rather than having Win Points and Margin Points like our Predictor Games, we are using Fantasy-style scoring, where you earn points according to the number of strokes over/under par for each of your selected golfers - every shot becomes important, and you can easily figure out how well (or badly!) you are doing.
Standalone tournaments
The Ryder Cup and NGC events also showed the enthusiasm for short, one-off events - with less commitment required than signing up for a whole season, standalone tournaments for the Majors will prove more popular than if they are strung together with other minor Tour events.
This mirrors the general level of interest in Golf events - every Golf fan gets excited about the Masters for instance, but arguably less so about regular Tour events like the Waste Management Open where the field is not nearly as strong.
Golf as a SuperBru series (this is the League that I have set up - MMP)
Nevertheless, we also have a solution for those that would like to follow the whole season, by enabling pool creation and linking them from one tournament to the next with just a single click.
If you’d like your pool to be available in our other golf tournaments this year, just keep the relevant boxes ticked when you first create the pool - this will mean you don’t have to create it again for the other tournaments, and people can choose to automatically be added to all pools when they join for the first time.
We will also have an F1-style scoring system for finishing positions in each tournament, so that performance can be tracked over the series, and each tournament carries the same weighting. This also avoids the situation where Majors are unfairly weighted downwards, because scoring well is traditionally much harder and the winning score could be -2 compared to -20 for a regular Tour event.
Another benefit is that we can include tournaments with different scoring systems, such as the Presidents Cup in October, whereas last year we could only include strokeplay events.
We hope you'll enjoy the new format, and any feedback is welcome, as always.
