THE PGA CHAMPIONSHIP was a tough nut to crack ... most of us struggled with the opening 2 days play, and the leader after the first two days, Trampie had too great a lead for the rest of the pack to close in the Final two days. A very consistent performance by Moist von Lipwig through all four days secured him second place from Asdral225 who bounded back from a poor third round with an excellent final round to nick 3rd place.

Congrats to TRAMPIE, who has only participated in two rounds, but wins on his second attempt!!

I have just received confirmation from SuperBru that there are only 3 Golf Comps remaining this year.

The two they have currently listed are:

The Tour Championship : Sep 22-25

The Ryder Cup (not included in our Prediction Championship at present)

and to be added later:

The Nedbank Challenge (November)

The Presidents Cup only runs every second year, so it will be in 2017's roster.

Does anybody have any thoughts on whether we should include the Ryder Cup in the Championship or not, given that the Presidents Cup does not run in the same year as the Ryder Cup ?

Unless someone protests, my gut feeling is to include it as I included all Golf competitions last year (including the Presidents Cup)

The NEDBANK Challenge Cup was won by MickMacP, by the skin of his teeth over Boddington after a comeback from a disastrous 3rd round.

Leaving us with the FINAL 2016 Golf Prediction Championship Leaderboard after 11 rounds (and including up to four discards for some) is as follows:



Pity that Topspur missed one competition during the year, as he was pipped by Boddington when they both scored 90 points in total once discards were taken into account ... Still, Boddington was a well deserved winner having performed consistently throughout the year (best shown by looking at the high value of his discards).

Interestingly, (perhaps) in 2016 Boddington never won an individual competition whereas in 2015 he won 4. It shows perhaps that the more competitors we get the less one sided the comp is likely to be.

So without further ado, The 2016 Golf Prediction Champion's Cup goes to Boddington, for the second successive year, CONGRATS !!
