Chris Gayle … Discuss :)
I boldy predict he will score the most runs of any player opening the chasing innings :D

Didn’t pick Russell for the same reason I didn’t pick Stokes. Hardly bowls and bats too far down the order.

Brilliant.

I had Russell Gayle (c) and Cottrell. Makes up a little from yesterday.

presume russell will be odds on to be fit for the next game but looked like a nasty jarring.

The toss is crucial in deciding whether to burn a transfer/capo. Aussies bowling first made my mind up to sit this one out. Bowl them out for under a ton please

I hope you didn’t have Williamson captained in the first game or it could be a bleak day for you.

Are you sure that those missing points aren't included in your total scores. In my team I've some NZ points missing from my daily total but nevertheless they are included in the more important cumulative total to date.

After a quick totting up - you are correct! Confusing that they have the wrong daily total though. Thanks Striker.

I think England are doing a pretty good job here. Pakistan were 6+ an over early on but have not managed to kick on at all. They might just about get up to 7 an over, but they must have hoped for more.

Still, they have done England a favour because now the bats are going to face a decent test, useful at this early stage.

As long as they make it, of course...

I'll be honest and say I have no idea :)

but it's early days, lots of transfers and captain switches ahead, and no hundreds yet.

Anyone else having IT problems with this game? Overall league position on team summary page seems to show daily position, and website collapses in high traffic preventing transfers near deadlines? Have tried on multiple devices (tablet, phone and laptops) and via several different internet connections in different locations and seems the same regardless, so think I’ve ruled out local causes so guess others must be having the same problems?

Yes. Assume they are aware of the issues regarding positions not showing correctly but just contacted them just in case.

I’m hoping they’ll also improve website stability around deadlines too. Currently guessing Indian bowlers to bring in tonight as I don’t want to risk not being able to make changes after teams are announced tomoro. Still if it’s the same for everyone I guess that’s fair enough - certainly adds an extra (unintended) element of uncertainty / luck to the game!

Not sure why they are having problems, as I think there are around 9000 teams which is not out of the ordinary for TFC games.

Have transferred in final 10 minutes every day without issues.

Agree on rankings though!

in answer to the person who wonders how far is too far, I think its going to be about nailing captains, I will admit I had Sharma today and that spat me right up the leaderboard far further than I expected.

Not liking the weekend weather though!

Tomorrow’s fixture a tough one for who to captain.

Australia v West Indies on the road at Trent Bridge. But talk of it being a bit dry (used) so could reverse.

Gayle - will he be fit? Sounds like he’ll play, could get cleaned up by Aussie quicks first ball or just start teeing off everywhere :P

Warner - reliable, but not sure I like this more circumspect approach

Finch - a massive lbw risk early on, but could also get a flyer

Hope - great player but breaks the daisy chain dipping into keepers?

Russell - a doubt, but assume they’ll patch him up and get him out there, he will go mental at some point with 6,6,6....but when?

Smith - at number 4 he’s an awkward one but could easily be the main man

Starc or Cummins if it reverses could mop up a few wickets

With decisions like this, it can easily be a 300 point swing if you get it wrong :? At this stage I’d say 500 points off the leader is nothing.

it's all looking a bit messy innit

not just the weather but leading keeper buttler a doubt for next game - personally guessing he may play as a specialist batsman. shakib a doubt for today with potentially ongoing issues, dre russell missed yesterday with potentially ongoing issues having been expected to make it. thats the highest scoring AR and biggest pick pre tourney. rashid khan KO'd. a few big batsmen in at no.4 not getting too much of a go. doubts over a few big bowlers places in terms of this game re rotation and keeping their place in the team.

tricky decisions ahead in what is a bit of a game of poker/guessing game!
