Post by kingcurtley »

The weather is comfortably in single figures, so it must be time for the start of the county season.

Sign up here - https://fantasycricket.telegraph.co.uk/county/home

Please post all team news and chat around the game in this thread. Normally to be sourced from club websites and twitter.

Fixture list wise, forum member ooozzzie normally runs an excel fixture list (may have to PM him for access).

FFStuff kindly shared his fixture list too - http://www.ffstuff.co.uk/

Who is playing for who? County ins and outs here - https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/cricket/45263823

Tomorrow to kick off, we have:

DIVISION ONE

Hampshire v Essex
Nottinghamshire v Yorkshire
Somerset v Kent

DIVISION TWO

Derbyshire v Durham
Northamptonshire v Middlesex
Sussex v Leicestershire

League wise, Jester runs the FISO league here - viewtopic.php?f=24&t=130000

Telegraph also run paid leagues.

A T20 and World Cup game run later in the summer, so you can also have a fresh crack at it if you get off to a shocker...
Enjoy!

And just for information in advance of next week, Footit has joined Lancs on an initial 28 day loan. Gleeson and Bailey (and Hurt, although he would only be in contention for one dayers I think) are injured, but Bailey is hoping to be back next week.

Davies has also said he’s fully fit to keep.

Thanks. Any idea how Lancs may line up?

Davies has also told Chapple he wants to open and Chapple normally listens to Davies as probably our most influential player - I suspect he’ll open with Jennings. Maxwell will obviously play, as will Vilas, Anderson, Bohannon, Footit (otherwise why sign him?), Bailey and Onions.

Parkinson would ordinarily play but he’s not fit (at least for the university game) after getting smacked in the face by a ball in Dubai - there’s no front line spinner in the squad tomorrow so I’m guessing they think he’ll be all right. Allott has described Hameed as a player hanging on by his fingernails - a real morale booster for the lad but I still think he’ll sneak in.

Davies
Jennings
Jones or Hameed or Croft
Maxwell
Vilas
Bohannon
Bailey
Parkinson
Onions
Anderson
Footit

Quite a long tail! If Bailey isn’t fit Mahmood will play but Mahmood will play a big part in the one dayers. A massive talent who needs to stay fit.

At the IPL, there for the duration but will probably only play once Buttler and Stokes come home.

Interesting stuff guys. Lancs look strong on paper if Anderson Bailey onions all play. Notts look strong, hope Paul Coughlin plays as I have picked him. Noticed McManus is missing for Hampshire not sure who their keeper is without him? Anyway looking forward to the first day, have to sneak away from my desk at work around 10.30 for any team adjustments

Alsopp will probably keep for Hants. He's down as a 6 rated batsman. Not sure if his rating's tempting enough.

I finally sorted three teams out tonight so I'm ready to go. Starting bargains aren't particularly obvious this season, only really managed to squeeze one or two in to each of my teams, meaning lots of mid-range picks instead of the top choices. As always, I find the WK picks the hardest of all.

Taunton has been wet most of the day and this evening (still raining now). Prospects don't look great for much play tomorrow. To be honest I predicted this would happen even when it was sunny and hot in the last week or two. It's what you expect from cricket, isn't it.

Anyway, good luck to all and thanks for all the team news everyone 8-)

Madsen now as well, who was in a decent number of teams. And to think that Derbyshire won the toss and decided to bat!

Reece in most teams and captain in 1! Ha! What a start! :)

Who’s this Tom Taylor fellow at Leics? Was on my radar after picking up 6 wickets in last week’s warm-ups but naturally didn’t take the plunge... Went for Will Davis, their other cheapie newbie, instead...
