Hmm - no Klein (Leics) or Wood (Hants)
Rotation, dropped, wrong coloured ball or mystery injuries?

Yes Jim got one in, Mui Ne this week which is a small town by the sea, very nice. I think I have enough names just about. I put young Henry Brookes in today looking forward to seeing how he gets on. But no Hankin for Glos very disappointing that haven't given him a chance.
Feels like a Thursday or Friday now, certainly not a Saturday, very strange.

Well up and down day but have got Burns and for some reason made Carter captain so happy with his return so far. The two bowling stars of the day Poysden and Chappel I doubt many... if any have got.

Re: New County Championship Thread 9th June Onwards
Yes indeed. All the big points were from unpopular bowlers if that is a fair description of them. on TFC of course, i am sure they are all very nice guys. Hard to pick though. I can't wait to see where my weekly is, if its not in the top 50 I will be disappointed,. Bristol is flat as a pancake they were talking about a 4 day draw at 11.01am! Mind you I think Kent might have a better bowler attack than Glos have right now so not so sure they are right about the draw. Durham and Derbyshire aren't messing around are they, well the bowlers aren't, the batsman aren't that hot.
Have provisionally booked to go to Worcs v Notts/Yorkshire next Sunday 11am start like that much better. I am sure Cricket is supposed to be played in the sunshine. Good old Worcs have no floodlights.....just the floods The other semi final is on a Monday at 2pm and there are loads of supporters moaning about that, and quite right too. Sky TV running the show.

Re: New County Championship Thread 9th June Onwards
Brought in Olivier today, for Ball! I would be surprised if England release him to play. If they do,what would be the point in taking him up. They could have just told him your our next port of call if needed, you might get a call. I took a gamble because he might play in 1/2/3 county games over Ball. If Ball plays in any games and gets wickets, the next game I think he will play could be the 30th of June. Final of the one day cup, if they get there. So for my team, I hope he plays for England and does very well! Good luck lads

Yes think you are right, word is Ball won't play in play off game they are hoping Broad will be allowed to though (he wasn't allowed to play in this 4 day game) So I think that will be the sweetner, Broad will play and Ball won't. But non of that is confirmed in anyway, just picked up from commentary today.

Cheers guys. Interesting about Broad. Look a seamer short do Notts in this game. Yeah thought about Olivier but went Wagner as he has championship game and play off game this week hopefully. Good shout getting him in though.
Leicestershire actually got a decent attack for this match- Abbas (good against England), Raine (consistently good), Griffiths (decent season), Chappell (good young prospect). Dieter Klein wouldn’t get in ahead of any of those at the moment.

Re: New County Championship Thread 9th June Onwards
I thought Broad, but 2 innings, against 1 innings. So went Olivier, he will be in now until the end of season! Unless injured, or totally loses form! 41 Ball 29 Olivier, at point of transfer. We will see if it works! They have to let Broad play, Ball is a massive loss! Broad,Gurney, Fletcher, Mullaney, Patel,Carter,Nash, Root gives them plenty of bowling options.Take Broad out and it looks light of one quick. Three medium fast, one medium pace, & 4 spin options. Hales, Wessels, Moore, Taylor. I wouldn’t play Carter, even though he has done well, Root at 8 is a batter, maybe a couple of overs. The tail is long if Carter plays!ooozzzie wrote: ↑09 Jun 2018, 19:38 Yes think you are right, word is Ball won't play in play off game they are hoping Broad will be allowed to though (he wasn't allowed to play in this 4 day game) So I think that will be the sweetner, Broad will play and Ball won't. Wagner was dropped for the last match, not sure if he will regain his place. Porter replaced him and took 4 wickets! They can, but I don’t think they will change their side. It was a massive match, they dropped him and Essex bowlers were superb! Big call, I wouldn’t change my team!Bluearmy16 wrote: ↑09 Jun 2018, 20:06 Cheers guys. Interesting about Broad. My understanding is that Oliver is only here for the first half of the season (7 county & all 1 day) and then romps off to pastures new unless you know different?Black caviar wrote: ↑09 Jun 2018, 20:44I thought Broad, but 2 innings, against 1 innings. Very good,FB!
My understanding of Sir Laurence is also that he will be on a different stage soon...which is why I am scratching around for reliable, consistent bowlers who will last the course!

Re: New County Championship Thread 9th June Onwards
I heard the same about Olivier and haven't heard anything different despite Santner then being injured. He's performed well all season, but I keep avoiding him due to wasting so many transfers on bowlers these last few weeks. Luckily I made my Lions-affected transfers yesterday, as the likes of Helm and Gubbins won't be seen in TFC terms for ages in view of no fixture this round. I think I only have Mullaney & Livingstone to drop after this round, and they're only in one team each for me.
Lovely day in Taunton again for anyone after new men. The fact that vd Merwe and Bess are in the team, plus Patel and Carter for Notts (I should have done Carter yesterday instead of Bess) it would indicate plenty of spin wickets. As vd Merwe is making a rare CC appearance, he might not be a regular pick, so Bess might be a good option even though vd Merwe is probably a more reliable batsman.
