I see that Batty is fit...hope this doesn't mean that Virdi is dropped.Talking of whom, this bloke certainly doesn't look 19!!..When I first saw his photo I thought it was a mistake!

The injuries to various bowlers presents a real headache.Ooozzzie has summarised the Coad dilemma and there are others whose participation in the RL I am unsure of....I can see me wasting transfers due to my inability to sit on my hands!

This feels like a really significant round of games, from our perspective..

DD.
Batty has been playing a bit of second team cricket. Not sure if that might be his remit now and then a coaching job. I think he will be brilliant, heart of a lion, a fast bowlers nasty attitude. He loves the game! I think he would be a great asset to the England team as a coach for spinners. Good strong player, but maybe not a yes man, which the ecb requires.

I seem to remember that in an end of season straw poll of umpires some years ago that Surrey were the most unpopular team and Batty the most unpopular player...but maybe my memory fails me..

In previous seasons he has been a useful player (when cheap) in terms of TFC....

Many thanks for the squad news Hose A, very helpful :)

And thanks for the news about Gleeson, I didn't know he was injured. I have him in 1 of my 4 teams so my 25% ownership isn't far off his average pick % I suppose. Time to move him out now, which is good as I have wanted Tom Bailey in one team since pre-season but bottled it a day before TFC started.

Thanks Hose A :)

Seems like time for a couple to go. Does anyone know if Sam Cook is likely to play in the 50-over stuff for Essex? He didn't last year, but only really broke into the team later in the season.

Northants squad.

Alex Wakely (Capt), Rob Newton, Ben Duckett, Richard Levi, Rob Keogh, Luke Procter, Adam Rossington (Wk), Josh Cobb, Steven Crook, Doug Bracewell, Brett Hutton, Ben Sanderson.
Gleeson, who according to TFC is still the most picked bowler in the comp in just over 1 in 3 teams and who has not played since week 2...is out for a while by the looks:
Northants have suffered a big injury blow with key bowler Richard Gleeson likely to miss a key part of the forthcoming Royal London One-Day Cup campaign.
The County start their 50-over bid at home to Leicestershire on May 17, but pace ace Gleeson will not be available.

The 30-year-old is set to have a second scan on an elbow injury, and head coach David Ripley fears he could miss a big chunk of the competition.

Thanks for the Gleeson news, Nabby.

Forgive me if this is the wrong thread but when I check the STATS section I can't seem to find a break down of players Runs and Wickets within the game - kind of crucial when attacking the spin off competitions... anyone know how to find this out?

@BluelionMan - go to transfers on one of your teams and you can then sort the players by runs or wickets

Yes we had to wait 10 mins and I even had my Sainsbury's order arrive.....but Duckett gets the Dubious 1st Prize closely followed by Mullaney.

Unpopular for the opposition he is a nasty bustard, he is a winner. The umpires don’t like him because he takes it right to the edge! He’s been band a few times, but I’d have him in my side. Sledging is part of the game, but sometimes he can take it to far! If you can get under a batsmen skin, there in your pocket. Played against Steve O'Shaughnessy an umpire now, he was a bustard towards you. Now an umpire, he will understand all the sledging that goes on.

A mixed day for my team today - not many runs (Burns as new captain) but a good return of wickets!

Am in a similar boat to you and Ducks DeLuxe. I'll be moving the captains armband tomorrow, not sure who yet, probably Renshaw. DI Stevens gets a stay and only moved out if he's out for a bit. DIS is awesome on the short format. :D

Goodness me! I see that Jim and I both have two teams in the Weekly top 50! Mine are utterly accidental...As my best one is named for my son and his bride of two weeks, I won't run it into the ground in pursuit of the elusive....otherwise I would!

Completely by chance DD ☺

I'm trying out a new dodgy tactic to go for unpopular bowlers this year.

For example Henry is on 2% brought in for Porter might seem risky but I reckon Essex have a few bowlers sharing the wickets and Kent only have one or two.

Seems like a plan ☺

Now I can try it with Abbot who sneaked into 2 of my 5 teams
