Both Teams To Score - prediction game WORLD CUP EDITION 2018:OPEN FOR ENTRIES

I have not written up rules yet, but the basic idea will be the same as in my BTTS comp that is played each year for premier league:

Only difference will be in the way gameweeks are set up etc, but the basic principles still will be predicting BTTS:YES or BTTS:NO and choosing Jokers. If any of you are interested feel free to post here so that you don't forget about this comp later when World Cup is near (and that will also help me to see how many of us might be playing this). I will try to finalize the idea for rules this week

The idea is of the game: each gameweek (gameweek will consist from sets of 8 games), participants of this comp write here their 5 predictions of games where they think either both teams will score, or not (that is - just one or none of the involved teams will).
Example:
Russia v Saudi Arabia BTTS:Yes
Morocco v Iran BTTS:No
Argentina v Iceland Yes
Peru v Denmark No
Croatia v Nigeria Yes (JOKER)

Scoring:
For each correct prediction a participant would receive 1 point. Additionaly to that, predicting those 5 games, each player will be able to use a ''JOKER'' - that means, writing ''JOKER'' next to one of the 5 predictions, if that exact game turns out to be predicted correctly, the participant gains 2 bonus points(1 for correct prediction+2 for it being a JOKER pick).
So in short:
1 point for correct prediction
Additional 2 points for correct Joker prediction

This will require no registration for the competition. You can just write your predictions before each gameweek here and that's it, even though it will be hard to win if you miss some deadlines. The only deadlines will be the time when the matches start (so if you miss 7 matches of the gameweek, you can still predict last 3 if it's before their kickoff).
I'll try to update standings next day after a gameweek ends.

Just to mention - the actual odds for BTTS and things like that for the games, don't matter.


The comp will be split in 6 equal parts representing the group stage + grande finale:

I will decide how grande finale works after I see how many participants are playing - maybe we will play it out like a playoff and those who get in lets say top 8 in first 6 gameweeks will qualify for it

*Also these tie-breakers will be used to find out the winner -
Tie-breakers:
1) Who has predicted more JOKER picks correctly?
2) If 1) is the same amount, then - who has more correct predictions for BTTS:NO (just because in my opinion predicting that both teams won't score is harder than BTTS:Yes)
3) If 2) is still the same for both players, then it means that also BTTS:YES number will be automatically the same, in that case, and only in that one, there will be 2(or more) winners, which seems unlikely though.

I have updated the rules in second post, but basically nothing really has changed from BTTS Premier league comp. Only difference will be for knockout stages as that might be played out as a playoff afterwards, but I have to see how many participants we have first.

At the moment my approach (if we get enough players) will be 6 gameweeks consisting of 8 matches each - a miniseason. And afterwards top 8 get into playoffs, which are played through knockout stages. But this will be fully updated once I see how much participants we have.
