Yeah - been crying out for this. Hoping we can get the same kinds of levels of discussion on here regarding the Scottish game - tips/guides etc

Quirky is an understatement.
I noticed that a team had only 10 players in its starting 11 and another with just three subs.
I contacted the organisers.

Good to know Might be useful if you go over budget
It took me until last weekend to get a grasp of the rules. I still have no real idea what point the credits are. Changing a player who isn't playing to one who is costs all of 5 credits. And then they give you 20 credits for picking a captain. Aren't we all going to do that anyway?
But I am warming to it. Ladbrokes will pay up - not sure that one of the other new games will.
Rangers v Celtic means a little extra thought required next weekend. They can't both win

Re: Ladbrokes SPFL Fantasy Comp 19/20
Not a clue what’s going on, how to score points or anything. Yet despite forgetting about selecting a team, not knowing most of the players and picking my initial team in about 5 minutes I’m just outside the top 1000.
Might figure it out by Christmas.

Weird game - I had a great start by pure luck but have dropped out straight away after a not so lucky second week. Still, at least they are still making it work, unlike this apparent other scottish game (sounds as though was only on app, so not surprising that it folded);

Re: Ladbrokes SPFL Fantasy Comp 19/20
I’ve managed to get to 19th despite making loads of mistakes - but still a long shot for the monthly prize
Team performance is equally as important as player performance and away wins are worth a lot more.
It’s basically choosing your team fresh every week and even making last minute swaps based on mainly OF lineups on the Sundays (managing the credits)
Definitely a gap in the market and potentially low hanging fruit for experienced fantasy players who can adapt to the quirky system...

Now I understand the credits I can see I'll be running short if I want to keep extending the budget. Helpline suggests publishing my team on facebook gets me 15 credits a week and persuading a friend to sign up gets me 100 credits. Don't think I have enough friends to make it through to the end of the season Why do I have to do their advertising for them so that I can play the game properly

Anyone on here still playing this?
I’m 19th but finding it difficult to bridge the gap to 1st. Was hungover one weekend and had Morelos (c) and Defoe (ss). I forgot to check the teams and Defoe started with Morelos benched. They beat Hibs 6-1 I think. Defo hattrick, Morelos brace. Cost me 100pts not swapping them round and using credits
Leader has a good 250ish lead on me. Just realised you don’t need 16 players playing (should have looked on here earlier). Only putting 4 on the bench to improve your first XI looks a no brainer. The extra £7m or so will really help

Yeah still persevering. I'm 3rd thanks to a few fluky supersubs. It's low maintenance at least. Four players each from the big two and fill up the rest with away team players. I think when Rangers play Celtic is going to be the time when you can make inroads as if you pick one and leave out the other, then it opens up more variations in choosing from the other teams. I've been lucky with supersubs but not 100% sure that having a non starter is the way to go although Defoe does looks a standout if on the bench. Hate scratching around for credits - I'll probably have enough to up my budget in November but after that there's sure to be gaps on the bench

Re: Ladbrokes SPFL Fantasy Comp 19/20
Aye, I considered Bayo as my super sub this week but decided to just go with 4 starters from Celtic as fancied a rout.
It is a tough one as outside of Celtic and Rangers it's only really Cosgrove that you can rely on to score heavily over the season. It's maybe best to have more money in the first XI but for the moment I've largely been going with Defoe/Morelos as the super sub. I'm hopeless at predicting who Gerrard starts though, felt sure Defoe would start yesterday with Morelos coming back from Colombia.
As you say, most will have 4 from each of Celtic and Rangers so the main way to make ground is hitting the right team from the rest. I went with St.Johnstone players in the main this week, negative points from my bench.
I reckon having 4 subs is the optimum strategy now, you can have more money in the first XI without feeling Defoe/Morelos as your super sub compromises it.

Was outside the top 1000 before I figured out the quirk. Now hovering around the 300s. Really bad luck picking captains.
30/11 to 29/12 has 7 game weeks so the overdraft which lasts a month could come in useful then.

been playing it half heartedly, somewhere around 25th, think i started just out of interest as to what was going on, seem to be a few odd things going on re extra credits that all seems a bit daft and weird, i'll probably carry on forgetting captains etc and keeping it at lowest priority but along with tff is for the chop next season barring dramatic changes!
