How Many Points on Your Licence ?

Post by bluenosey »

45 in this case

http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-25626147

Makes a right mockery of the system

We're talking nearly quadruple the limit ! I would love to know the size of the insurance premium for the said motorist.

I had 3 points for a while back in 2006 but that's it, touch wood.

So none for you then as they drop off after 5 years.

Zero.

I somehow forgot a $p££d cam£ra that I drive through most days was there, I was not watching the speed dial like I normally would going through it so got flashed by it a couple of years ago. But took the safety awareness course or whatever it's called instead. £90 to sit through an afternoon of bullsh#t is much cheaper in the long run than the 3 points

0 as far as I know but my licence is still registered to an address I haven't lived at for 30 years so I'd never know anyway I guess.

Had 3 pts twice. Both in Mancunia. Another reason to hate them

Got 3 points about 20 years ago for speeding and 3 points last year - funnily enough in exactly the same place that Tricky Tree got caught.

They've been sending you letters about it for years now!....

0 currently - 5 about 12-15 years ago because got caught by a copper with a hairdryer and had lost my license so couldn't produce within 7 days - held my hands up and didn't argue but because they had to refer it to magistrates and I got an arsey one they doubled the fine and gave me 2 extra points...

Just got my licence back a few mths ago (had to do an extended driving test)
To cut a long story short( this all happened a while back) my best mate & i were on our motorbikes cbr 600rr & gsxr 600 when i made a legitimate overtake of a car in a 60 zone that was'nt sure where it was going & obviously wasnt using its mirrors & decided to turn right at the last second across the road.
I got passed but my mate hit it & was killed
The police tried to do me for causing death by dangerous driving  i was nothing to do with the accident & they didnt even do the car driver on any grounds
Baaically i was made scapegoat by nkrth yorkshire police & ended up being charged with dangerous driving(not death by) after being on bail for 5mth while they investigated(almost drove me crazy wondering how it was gonna turn out).
Now dont get me wrong,i'm no angel on a motorbike by any stretch but didnt deserve to be charged with anything that happened at the time of the accident.
Ended up with an 18mth ban,4 mth prison suspended for 12 mth(the judge during court almost sent me down there n then for 6 mth) & a fine,my mates family even came to court to speak up on my behalf as they knew i was'nt guilty of any wrong doing.
Should of been the stupid bitch in the car who killed my mate who should of been charged, even to this day i still dont understand why i was made to shoukder the blame & not her :x
Its fair to say cops hate bikers :(
