Sounds like Cahill will be off from Gameweek 22, so he'll miss the Spurs game. Everton's games:
GW22 - h v Spurs
GW23 - a v Liverpool
GW24 - h v West Ham, potential double week
GW25 - a v Arsenal
Can't say I fancy a Cahill-less Everton during that period, considering the Hammers could well have a new man in charge by then.

So who's holding then? With another 7 in my front 8 that I can happily play, I'm tempted.Tacalabala wrote:Sounds like Cahill will be off from Gameweek 22, so he'll miss the Spurs game. Everton's games:

Reduced rotation risk and suspension risk in January (when does the yellow card count get adjusted?), fixtures where I may have sat him anyways, 4 defenders I'm happy to put on the park (matchup dependent, of course), and a bonus wildcard.
I can be brave (now) and maybe hold on. Weather and double gameweeks will shoot me down in flames, so I reserve the right to change my mind.

There is no ban for 5 yellow cards after new year (from memory - double check if it is important to you!)
Whether you hold probably depends on the game you are playing but Cahill, Lee and co will be evicted from my TFF teams as there are plenty of similar priced alternatives staying here and on form.

Ji-Sung Park (of Man U) is the first of the players to pack his bags - http://www.premierleague.com/page/Match ... 09,00.html" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

Seems right:
from http://www.bwfc.co.uk/page/General/0,,1 ... 73,00.htmlChung-Yong's Asia Cup Place Confirmed
Posted on: Fri 24 Dec 2010
Bolton Wanderers midfielder Chung-Yong Lee's appearance at the Asia Cup has been confirmed after he was included the final 23-man South Korea squad.
The tournament takes place in Qatar this coming January, and Manager Owen Coyle expects the Boxing Day fixture against West Bromwich Albion to be the winger's last before he links-up with his international colleagues.
The Manager said: "We did ask for an extension, like every other team who has a player competing in the Asia Cup. After the Boxing Day clash he is due to join up with the squad.
"It's not ideal having a player away at this time but we will have to get on with. He is a great young man to have around the football club and is desperate to play for Bolton Wanderers, but equally representing his country is a big part of his life.
Chung-Yong Lee was an unused substitute in last weekend's game against Sunderland, and Coyle added: "I have had to be careful with him in recent weeks because he has played for nearly two years without a break and we don't want to burn him out."

I did read that Cahill was going after 2 more games (from now). It was only mentioned in passing though....

For now, though, manager Moyes wants to see Cahill sign off with a flourish at West Ham this evening and Stoke on New Year's Day before he heads for Qatar.

Re: Asian Cup - Players due away mid-Dec to end of Jan.
Liverpool reporting Brad Jones (our no. 2 keeper) has been called up..
Bit of interest to Cahill owners.....
"......[he]will join up with his Socceroos teammates at a training camp in Dubai on January 3, 2011.
Australia then face the UAE in a pre-tournament friendly on Wednesday, January 5 prior to travelling to Doha the following day."
Sounds like just 2 games left for Cahill and co.

Everton confirm Cahill's departure date:

Re: Asian Cup - Players due away mid-Dec to end of Jan.
Cahill and Schwarzer have both played their final games before heading off to the Asian Cup. Along with Park (United) and Lee (Bolton), who left last week, is anyone else on their way from the EPL?
On the injury table, I've figured in a return date for them all of 1st Feb 2011 - although they could return earlier if their countries get knocked out? I'm not sure what format the competition takes.

If you want to be comprehensive then add Brad Jones (Liverpool reserve keeper) to the absentees.snout wrote:Cahill and Schwarzer have both played their final games before heading off to the Asian Cup. Jones now added, along with David Carney of Blackpool. I think that's the lot.
