Lottery needs you to hit the exact combination (at however million to one).

Whereas in this, you just need to outscore all your opponents. We've got players (as we can see from this tread) fancy their chances of competing entering just 5, 10 or however many teams. Imagine if they had the means (time, resources and whatever tools they wanted at their disposal) to enter 500 teams. They'd fancy their chances even more wouldn't they? Obviously it doesn't guarantee a win and managing that many teams is a skill in itself.
I meant it had similarities to the lottery. Vastly different but ....with the lottery, whilst you cannot change the probability of winning, you can maximise the money you win by picking numbers nobody else does. i.e. avoid lucky numbers, birthdays and nice patterns on the ticket and you will share your winnings for 4, 5 or 6 numbers with less people.

Similarly if Sandor covers unlikely blocks or players he will have less opposition on the leaderboard when that comes off. If one of his blocks gets a CS on Saturday lunchtime (him and 100s of others) he can cover all Saturday 3pm blocks whereas your typical MOTM player will go for the statistically more likely. So if the only block to get a 3pm CS is Burnley at Man Utd then Sandor has it covered and not many others will be up there with him.

This is good for monthly or weekly success but not so great for seasonal play as I said earlier:
Any statistical advantage he may have... is surely outweighed by a) needing to avoid decent player bias and b) the sheer focus on an individual team by a single or minor-multi entrant.

+1

The extent to which the likes of Sandor increase their season long game chances are usually exaggerated by posters here. For many of us having 500 teams would reduce our chances of winning to zero. Even if the guy is a good organiser of his teams, the main advantage that he gives himself is that he may have two or three genuine chances come March, whereas we may only have one or none. But he has no advantage over other managers in "finishing off".

Entering 500 teams must make major inroads into the rest of his life and it doesn't increase his chances of winning by that much compared to his chances with 20 teams. Furthermore needing so many "shots" at a single target shows a lack of confidence in his own fantasy managerial ability. Consequently I regard anyone entering 500 teams as a bit of a pr*ck. But I strongly disagree with those who say that he is spoiling the game. As far as I'm concerned he can enter 5000 teams if he's dumb enough to do so.

14 teams in the top 100 now....slightly ominous.
Hopefully an injury or five in the 'warm up' of games can put him to the sword.

I'm struggling to keep track of 12 teams, so a mass transfer out of an injured player across hundreds of teams would hopefully prove unsuccessful.

8-)

I'd just like to say I stopped Sandor winning phase 4 of the euros 2016 in the Sun. He had a France block at the back and I had mainly Portugese players. Then in extra time super sub Eder scored and it was the best feeling ever :D not only because I won but I beat Sandor.

how many blocks does he have?
I have seen Man U At least 15
West Brom At Least 25
Leicester 40
Southampton - 20
Spurs 15
Man City 15

He might have a smaller number for other teams. There is one Hud1. Would have thought we would have seen more Huddersfield on the leaderboards if he had multi blocked with them. Guess he has around 250-300 teams

Not sure how he finds the time to manage them all given that he must be in all the other fantasy competitions. He must be overworked 2PM every saturday. Must be very disciplined

You may enter this team in multiple leagues and compete against different groups of friends.") and you can clearly prove that a person is not only running 3 teams, but posting the transfers for each of these teams on Twitter for all to see and when you bring it to the organisers attention you are flat out resoundingly ignored and no action taken whatsoever?
I received this this morning (18 days later) so it seems only proper to provide an update.

We can all sleep better and safer knowing that such dynamic action is happening behind the scenes......

He'll win alot of weekly / monthly prizes just because he'll have some unlikely blocks that hit. Also the Telegraph is probably easier to win prizes if you play blocks and are not bothered about burning transfers to swap players in out when fixtures are played on different days.

The Sun he'll find alot harder and with all those teams there is no way he can react to team news in time to alter selections in hundreds of teams.

I've got 2 sky teams, 10 sun teams and a total of 10 telegraph ones in 3 competitions and i already find myself having to prioritise certain teams.

On one hand i think managers like him spoil it for the guys who try to win it with research and intelligence rather than probability. However it's people like him that throw money at it that allows great prize funds.
