Nothing to do with why your scribble message has been ignored mate. As the managers in the higher divisions of the Extreme League will also see it. Probably playing in the same private league as a load of jolly foreigners.... possibly.....
Or just plain ignorant chap.

I didn't realise that. After a couple of days you would have thought someone might have said hello back.Richt wrote:

Re: I've got a team!
I've been asked for a friendly so someone must be looking.
By the way is it normal to have friendlies whilst the season is still running?

Re: I've got a team!
Yes its normal. Once you're out of the cup you only have one league game per week. You get about 25% worth of DV and ME for a friendly so if your team is short of form and DV then it's a decent idea to play some.

Re: I've got a team!
Thanks for that info WilBert. I've looked at all of the teams in my league and the ones above and I can't challenge any of them to a game. Does that mean they have plenty going on or is there a limit on friendlies?

Re: I've got a team!
Think there is a limit of invites you can send out but some teams will have their settings set to "not open to friendlies"
There is a forum thread where you can request friendlies. Another way is to look at those who've recently logged on by clicking "goto league" "members" and you can see who's logged in recently, check those teams to see how strong they are and challenge them (they are likely to be active members/online)

I've gone through several leagues all of whom have been to the site recently and still no luck for a friendly. I can only presume that everyone is still in the cup except me.

Cheers Barry. If you give me your team name, league and division I could probably track you down.barry wrote:I'll give you a game mate. can't log on though, see if the guys can tell you how to find me cos I've no idea!Spinynorman wrote:I've gone through several leagues all of whom have been to the site recently and still no luck for a friendly. Re: I've got a team!
You have to be in the same league to play a friendly. You are in a different league to barry spiny.

Re: I've got a team!
I think I've sussed the friendly thing.
I've now played a friendly and everyone became active to challenge, I've challenged a team and now everyone is unavailable again so it looks like it's one request/game at a time.
Or did everyone already know that?
By the way I lost 3-0.

I think that you need one of your next two game slots to be free to arrange a Friendly.

Re: I've got a team!
I've suddenly and without warning had a friendly request accepted. It's a team that plays in an entirely 352 league.

I won with my new team in 7th div easy peasy, won every game 4/5 nil, up to 6th div now and struggling against teams of 30+ year olds.
Can see my team flip between the 2 for a while!
When I started with my public team I was in div 9.64, I just got promoted to 5.34 and look likes I can hold my own in there.
I gutted my public team when I started, there is something quite satisfying about watching your pub team climbing the tables... especially as none of you lot are there to beat me.

Just seen the result of the latest friendly. He put out a snucky sneaky 442 against me but I still won 4-1.

Re: I've got a team!
Won the last game of the season 7-0 which means that I stay up.
On the down side one of the older and better midfielders that I was going to keep around is retiring.
Time to disband this mob and get some yoof in.

Re: I've got a team!
Congrats on surviving - my lot are doomed so I cashed in the oldies and expect a few seasons picking up ME from the opponents.
I just hope that the team doesn't get zapped for going down to 14 when one retires

Just noticed that my manager skill has gone up as well.
It's increased by one point up to two.

Re: I've got a team!
I've now started the task of buying and sacking but have not got off to a good start. Despite evaluating I have bought two 17/3's who have turned out to be 17/2's.

We all access the same TM in the public league spiny. Can I make a few suggestions? What's your budget? Targets?

At the moment I still have about 6 million.WilBert wrote:

My approach is a mixture of Karrde's advice with some of my own ideas thrown in just to spoil things.
I thought I would go for some cheap 17/3's with a few sq's to sell on mixed in with some 17/4's to nurture. As suggested I'm going to hang on to a couple of older ones to keep the average age up a bit. I'm also going to go for a 5 star youth accademy although I'm willing to listen to reason. I will persevere with my 17/2's.
I think I need to concentrate on goalkeeper, defence, midfield and up front.
After this or the next season I will proably revert to how I build my other teams but just accept that this team will be young and low skilled but I'm hoping that I'm far enough down to not lose every match.
