Joey Barton Suspension to cause a freefall in demand?

Post by wabu »

Joey Barton picked up a yellow card against Liverpool which takes him to 10 yellow cards and according to the 5 live commentator - he will receive a 2 game ban.

With so many teams having him, I'm predicting a mass sale of Joey Barton next week. Anyone think he won't go into freefall? I'm going to ditch him as I reckon all those monthly and 2006 league teams will sell him, which will mean taking a big hit.

The dilemma is, who should I replace him with, I'm considering Carrick but Spurs are out of the cup.

of the teams with "extra " matches in the next couple of weeks (monday night or fa cup replays) - all of which will attract short term buyers - the options are mullins, mccann, or bullard - i'm looking at mccann. edit - have changed my mind - mullins (cheaper, with money tight, going for the monthly, and west ham at home to portsmouth on the 18th).

Interesting to see he only gets a one match ban - but he's still only one yellow away from getting another two match ban. So he's probably going to miss three of City's next 5 or 6 games.

If you've the spare transfers, sounds like it might be worth it to me.

Boro's good form means Boateng or Doriva might be worth a shout.

And Sissoko's injury means Hamann getting more games for Liverpool Id guess. He wont play in every one though - but Id imagine he will in almost all the away games at least.

5 Live got it wrong. Murf is correct.

Barton stays on 9 yellow cards and gets a 1 match ban, but is 1 more yellow away from a 2 match ban.
