Re: GW29
I'm going to try to work my way up to 8 or 9 players. Basically from now on my transfers will be BGW29 players and Barnes.

Re: GW29
Same for me.
The problem is that with the demise of Grealish, I currently have only 4, and they’re not great.
So I will be looking to add 3 or 4 between now and then, without overly compromising scoring prospects through GWs 26 to 28.
I am expecting to wildcard out in 31.

Got 7 at the moment, will add 1 or 2 more in the coming weeks. Taylor Veltman/Burn will probably be one but undecided on the other. Saving the FH.

I’ve got 7 at the moment (would have been 8, but for Grealish), so can get to 10 without any hits. Plan to WC in GW31 - not GW30 as the fixtures in that week are very good, it’s in GW31 that they turn.

+1 basically identical situation. GW30 WC would be a horrible error imo.Hogmeister wrote: ↑23 Feb 2021, 08:51 I’ve got 7 at the moment (would have been 8, but for Grealish), so can get to 10 without any hits. I see planning for GW29-30 as one item, with my transfers all for those two weeks.

Re: GW29
At the moment i've got 7 (plus a sub keeper!) but I'll likely get rid of one of these players this week for an extra doubler (probably Meslier to Pickford).
Tempted to use free hit but will see how things look in a couple of weeks time. I'll basically reserve it to use then and If the players in those teams are worth having prior to that week then I'll maybe head that way and keep the free hit.
Not great fixtures, Fulham v Leeds could go either way, Brighton v Newcastle is likely a defenders game but Newcastle have conceded a bit at the moment , West Ham v Arsenal by current form I'd fancy West Ham but Arsenal are unpredictable. Aston Villa look better than Spurs at the moment but Spurs could easily turn things around by then.
No clear big point scorers really.

Re: GW29
Same. I'm looking to get the following 6 by then using only FTs:
Martínez
Cresswell
Raphinha Smith Rowe Bale
Antonio
Aiming to have two FT by then and might use one to temporarily get in one more.

Re: GW29
I haven't planned to use it. When I feel like it. Perhaps in 33.
I enjoy using it as a sword to attack potential fixtures (like doubles) rather than using it as a shield to defend (like blanks). That being said, using a FH usually backfires with my original team outperforming my FH team...

Re: GW29
Will have 7 in my team for GW 26 so will likely just add a couple to get up to 9 or so which I think is enough given the fixtures.

I would say though that it can still be used as a big sword in GW29 - those that play the GW without the chip with virtaully have the same team as they will have to pick players weeks before hand and carry them into the GW, if on a FH you can cherry pick the best team (which may not be clear now) knowing that those without the FH will not be able to match those players unless they are taking a -12 or whatever. Injuries and suspensions would be very beneficial going into GW29.

Re: GW29
It's just, to me, slim pickings looking at the players I will already have by then. I don't see too much upside/goals galore overall in those games actually.
Fulham - Leeds 1-2?
Brighton - Newcastle 1-1?
West Ham - Arsenal 2-1?
Aston Villa - Spurs 1-1?

you could be correct, not many fixtures to go at.From4corners wrote: ↑24 Feb 2021, 19:54 It's just, to me, slim pickings looking at the players I will already have by then. I don't see too much upside/goals galore overall in those games actually.
my early thoughts were that players like Auba, double Brighton defence, and even Bale! could be used against non FH managers who couldn't bring them in. Will have a proper look closer to the time, not wishing players hurt but a small 1 week injury to the likes of Bamford, Soucek, Son etc would cripple the non FH managers!

Re: GW29
Well this is the perfect scenario for a FH in any week. You would want maximum carnage as long as your team that returned the following week wasn't ravaged by that same fate.

Re: GW29
Indeed, and as i could be jettisoning my leeds players this week thats what I’ll be hoping for. Dont Bielsa players start dropping like flies at the back end of the season?Sutter Kane wrote: ↑24 Feb 2021, 21:49Well this is the perfect scenario for a FH in any week. Re: GW29
Had no plans for GW29. Left with Dallas, Bamford, Son and Soucek as things stand.
Got a few players to use to accommodate for that GW (Ian Nacho, Mee, J-Rod).

Re: GW29
Your last sentence kind of implies that using the free hit as a sword to maximise DGWs may not be the best approach. We're all familiar with the situation when you get in a player for a DGW and they end up scoring less than the one you transferred out. Happened to me only this week when I brought in Ings for Antonio.From4corners wrote: ↑24 Feb 2021, 19:45I haven't planned to use it. When I feel like it. Perhaps in 33.

Whereas if you use it as a shield for blank gameweeks like GW29 you can almost guarantee that your FH team will score more than your original team. (Unless you're extremely unlucky and your FH players end up scoring negative points.)
GW29 is the perfect time to use the FH IMO as it allows you to pick players that you want for one week only from the likes of Brighton, Arsenal, West Ham etc who you wouldn't necessarily want long term going forward.
And we can 100% guarantee that those 4 matches will include some goals and/or clean sheets so if you have 11 players plus bench from those 8 teams you will likely get a decent score. Which you won't get if your squad for GW29 is made up of players from non-playing teams.
Saying all that though I won't be playing the FH in GW29 as I've already used it the last time there was a blank gameweek a few months ago!

Re: GW29
Anybody else now thinking of not using the FH in Gw29?
If i go through with salah to bale this week i will have 8 gw29 players so i can get 9 for free or 10 for just a minus 4.
My concerns are now that most of the players id be free hitting in are players i already own!
The FH would basically stop a minus 4 (or 8 if i wanted to get 11 out) and allow me to bring in brighton defenders! It doesn’t seem worth it to be honest, may just hold the FH and go with what i have.

Currently have 8 and can get to 11 without hits. I was planning on going in with 10 but Liverpool's form is making me consider transferring out Salah and going with 11. Aub/Bale under consideration if Salah gets binned.
