GW6 Captain

Half-considered just putting up Salah and Kane as the 2 options, thought I would cater to you maverick managers though too ;) I think its incredibly hard to call between Salah and Kane, I'll be watching Liverpool in the champions league with interest to see how they get on without VVD. The ffscout captaincy video erred slightly on the side of Salah but strong cases for both were made.

I'm thinking TAA or Robertson have to be a minimum 6p, right? But I'm probably going with Salah since every one else is doing it.

in this relatively short crazy season ARE YOU MAD!!!   in other words it a cautious no from me.

Salah on the other hand.......well i took a hit to finally bring him into my team, coupled up with the deadly attack of mane and dare i say it Firmino (where are you tommyk) along with home advantage i would rather go with this than a hungover spurs (from thurs night europa in your mocha action) going to cold miserable burnley on a drab monday night :D

A position well argued sir. It’s just the fear that Spurs could still score six 🙈 or draw 3-3...

Mendy and Thiago are back though. Better off judging tonight's match against Sevilla before you commit.

Salah but seriously tempted by Aguero or maybe a dash of Son.

However, Aguero does appear to be a differential, hmm tough choices!

I’m going for Rodriguez (don’t have Salah) is that too risky? I figure Southampton’s high line will leak some goals

It is clearly risky. My on opinion is that Everton doesnt have the players to utilitise a high line. Rodriguez nor DCL are known for their speed and Richarlison is banned. Just my 2 cents.

Yeah, Rich would've been good for them this game. I do think though that Hames will drift into the 10 position to receive cutbacks from Iwobi.

On the other hand, Ings could have some joy against Pickford. Remember him forcing goalies into mistakes last season, maybe Pickford was among them?

Think it's an obvious Salah captaincy week. I think If you own him and aren't going to captain him for teams like Sheffield at home with no other standout options available then he probably shouldn't be in your team at all.

Care to offer a reasonable argument against this line of thinking rather than just needless snark?

A player like Salah takes up 12m+. of your budget and will likely only offer value per million if captained a reasonable amount of time such as at home Vs poor opposition.

So what if Salah takes up 12m of ones budget. That should not be a reason to captain him. At least in my opinion. Pick the player who you think will score the most points. If you think that is because of a players pricetag and fixture rather than looking further for players on form and against potentially easier looking opposition, then be my guest. If you think it is Salah who will score the most points, then that is your reason. Not because he is the most expensive player in the game (that would be then based on hope and wishful thinking to make up for his hefty price).

Similarly, that logic of looking at price points also should not be a reason to not bring in a player with such a price point if you aren't planning on captaining him. Good example was KDB last season, who many many did not bring in at the start because "I wouldn't captain him." Look how wrong those people were and who consequently put him in their teams quicker than they could delete those posts.

I think he is right as your basically stating to those that have Salah they are wrong to not captain him, where as if they have Kane in there team Also who is the form player, then i think they have a tricky decision to make.

Just because you have a premium player thats does not mean you have to make him your captain, some people play this game for fun and would maybe like to make a differential option.

DCL has scored every game and now plays against a high line southampton team, just because he does not cost 12 million does not make him any less of an option.

Id not be surprised if Mane outscored Salah this week, he certainly gets enough chances.

Yeah to many managers who play the game in a more conservative fashion it's basically a 2 horse race this week between Salah and kane. I'm one of those style of managers. But I'm also aware there are loads of people who play the game far more aggressively, hence the numerous captain poll options. There's probably even a couple of options I've missed out.

This isn't quite true, ever since Stevie contracted Covid he's actually transformed into a competent , even lucky manager. Thank goodness this situation is only going to last 14 days.
