Which brings the conversation back round to the point I made earlier. If the likes of Salah were reclassified and didn’t qualify for 5 pointy goals and the bonus for a clean sheet they’d need their price reducing.
A consequence of that would be the ability to include even more top players within budget and less team variance

Also, TAA should be 8.5 at least.
Yep, 8.5 is about right.

No, because Salah should really be 13.5 now and then a 12.0 forward if he was reclassified. However FPL seem to price the top options about 1.0 cheaper than they should, so we are able to pack loads of them into our team, hence why I was saying earlier that Salah would go from 12.5 as a midfielder to 11.0 as a forward, (under FPL's current pricing philosophy).

Basically what I am getting at is (i) FPL pricing players appropriately to force managers to pick players from more clubs and (ii) FPL classifying players appropriately, are two different concepts that we shouldn't confuse here.

For (i) FPL are pricing premium players too cheaply across the board in my view, particularly when these players have the added captaincy bonus that they bring with them.

For (ii) FPL need to ensure that there are enough reasonable options to select in midfield and forward to satisfy the 2-5-5-3 structure. Therefore strict accurate classification is not 100% necessary as lots of good midfield options are needed as we all have to choose 5 of them, so long as FPL also prices appropriately when they are 'OOP' classifying someone. For example that could classify Aguero as a defender if they so felt inclined, so long as they made him cost 16.0 then the 'OOP' concept would be priced accordingly.

I think we’re both focusing on the same aspect, the need to price appropriately. I really don’t lose any sleep over Salah being classified as a midfielder or forward especially as we can choose different variations.

Yes, FPL should price and classify in a way that maximises all choices for all parts of people's squads. I believe they achieve this with their 'classification' strategy, but not with their 'pricing' strategy.

I think the issue is Salah et al being Fwds and priced as per Kane and Kun.

Imagine all those wide forwards who have been Mids being classified as Mids.... 523 could rock again?

Except eveyone's '2' in midfield would be KDB and Fernandes and the game would be terribly dull.

Auba the midfielder. Didn’t see that coming.

Think my differentials are gonna lie in the forwards.

Not necessarily as nobody can fit all the premium mids in the same team.

Salah/Mane KDB/Sterling Aubemeyang Bruno/Rashford Pulisic/Zichek

Edit: not all premiums but you get my point haha
