Hmmm I brought in Auba as my Vardy replacement, now seeing Vardy back wish I'd not bothered!

Done Lundstram to Egan.

Any word on Mane's chances of being fit in 2 weeks? Brought him in for DGW and seen 20 minutes game time and -0.2 off his price. Held on for Norwich with the extra week recovery but if that's not going to be enough I'll take a hit for a city mid

I definitely regret choosing Auba as my Vardy's replacement a week or so ago.
0.91xG, though – he must have been doing something right?
Not saying I'm completely sold on him or anything, and we all know how underwhelming Arsenal have been, but Auba has scored decently despite this and has the fixtures, and is surely less rotation-prone than any given Man City attacker even if Ars do have UEL games. Seems ok to me, especially if you can't manage the extra spend to get up to Aguero.
I'm open to being convinced otherwise :)

Ive just brought Mane in on a wildcard, i reckon if he Don't start he will certainly play some part in the game.

He is im majorca at moment having Pyhsio and working on fitness and think Klopp was just being extra precautionary with him and really he is in same boat as Vardy was, where only needed 10 days rest and he fine

Not sure what to do. Three of my squad have fallen out of their respective first X1s... Lundstram, Kelly and Dendoncker. I guess I can get away with holding Lundstram and Dendoncker because they are likely to at least come off the bench, less so Kelly... so I'm looking for an alternative to him. I looked at Webster but I already have Dunk and I'm reluctant to double up on Brighton. Already have a Sheff Utd double up. Might wait till I've got two frees, sell Dendoncker and bring in Boly as my third Wolves player.

You prefer Boly to Doherty because of their prices alone?

Yes, Boly seems better value. The one Wolves player who could benefit from Boly being back is Romain Saiss. He is in good form at the moment, he sometimes has to cover two players if Jonny gets stranded up field but does the job really well. There is always the danger of him picking up a yellow card but at 4.4 he's good value and he could be the player I bring in to replace Kelly but I'll have to wait til I've got two frees because I will have to remove Dendoncker who has lost his place to Boly on the right of the back three.

What about Tanganga? He’s started for Spurs, though when Davies is fit that might change.

There’s Lascelles at 4.2 or Fernandez at Newcastle are tight at the back and have a good set of fixtures left.

A left field option could be Walker-Peters, he’s shown attacking returns at Spurs and if he starts for Southampton he’s got decent fixtures and attacking returns as a possibility. Though more of a one to watch.

Boly did get four goals last season and is a set piece threat. They also seem sturdier at the back with him. So I think the 4.7 to 6.1(?) difference makes Boly the better pick.

What’s the rush to dump Vardy?

If you got him early he’s the best option around £9.5m except for Fermino, but Fermino isn’t really an option over the other Liverpool options.

I’m very happy with Vardy and Ings and having the funds for Salah, Mane, KDB.

I feel like this template got broadly dumped in GW24 but it’s actually still very viable.

These are still the best FPL players in the best teams. Then you also need TAA.

Outside of Salah, Mane, TAA, KDB, Vardy... you have a series of options where you can look at fixtures and value and play around with DGW/BGW. But that core part of my team isn’t going anywhere now unless someone get a really nasty injury. These players are pretty much unaffected by fixture difficulty.

Does anyone have any insight on whether Retsos is likely to come straight into the Sheff Utd team and if so who he's more likely to replace and who is most "nailed" in that back line? Want to do Lundstram to another SHU defender but don't want to pick the next one for the bench!

It looks like Lundstram lost his place specifically because of an issue his agent had with his salary and Wilder has taken exception to that.

The guy is no-nonsense, don't be surprised if Lundstram doesn't start for the rest of the season, but the other defenders are all probably safe.

Retsos can play CB and RB so maybe go for the left sided CB or Stevens. But I can't imagine he'd be starting ahead of any of their defenders though given how well they've been doing so far.

Will move on Lundstram for either Stevens or Baldock this week. Any Sheffield fan knows which one is more attacking? I guess none of them take any set pieces and both stay back on corners?

Stevens is the more accomplished attacking wise and more likely to assist/score but Baldock has improved this season with some end product FF wise.

With some "easier" looking fixtures coming up O'Connell at 4.6 might get some more overlapping opportunities and deliver some decent crosses or nod one in from a set piece.

Sheffield fan but not a Blades fan(!), I just compared SU defenders
Baldock has more attacking returns
Every other metric (form, ICT, etc) suggests that Stevens is the player to go for more recently
In the lower price bracket of £4.5-4.7m megadyl, who is a Blades fan, recommended O’Connell. I invested the extra £0.5m on Stevens but it was a close call

I want to lose Lundstram, Martial and Maupay. And I only really want Boly and Son, and to keep my WC.

Can’t make it equate without a (not so) mini wildcard of hits so rolling for 2 frees next week and assess.

Therefore hoping for the Villa revival to continue and stifle Son, and for my boys to get a goal at least at Wolves.

Just did the following with a -4 point hit:

Richarlison > Son

Maddison > Traore

Abraham > Ings

Not sure if I made a good choice or not, but Southampton has a favorable set of games compared to Chelsea and Everton has several difficult matches coming up.
Wanted Agüero, but TAA would have to be sacrificed which is not worth it considering the upcoming BGW.

I currently have Lundstram, KDB, Grealish, Douglas Luiz, Auba + Kelly (dropped) missing GW28.

With 3 transfers until GW28, I should be able to field a full 11 without a hit. However, that means going without Sheffield United defence cover over the next couple of GWs.
What would you do? Bring in someone like Stephens (SOU) who has great fixtures or someone else playing in GW28 for Lundstram. Or bring in Egan which gives me a SHU defence cover but still leaves me with 6 non playing GW28 players with only 2 transfers left? I have 0.0m in bank and this is my current set up:

McCarthy (McGovern)
TAA Lundstram Soyuncu (Rico, Kelly)
Grealish KDB Mane Salah (Douglas Luiz)
Auba Ings Jimenez

Now that Sterling seems to be out for two weeks at least, I’m tempted by Vardy  Jesus.

Thank you for the Sheffield United input all. I was talking to another SHU fan who agreed Retsos will probably be bled in slowly as they play quite a specific system, and that it is most likely Basham he has been brought in as competition for. My budget is limited so I think I will go for O'Connell as he has the most big chances created among the budget options.

I did the rash GW25 WC so now I have to start saving transfers for upcoming blanks and doubles. Not having Auba and Aguero in BGW28 will be a problem.

Either Kelly or Lundstram to Stephens for me I reckon. Lundstram more likely to haemorrhage value over the next few weeks. Then again he could play and score.
