Mid Season Break

Post by Stu255 »

This looks like a nightmare for FPL managers...

The Premier League will split one round of matches in February over two weekends, with five matches on the weekend commencing 8 February 2020 and five on the weekend commencing 15 February.

Back to back BGW’s for alternative halves of the Premier League? Aaarghhhh!!

Surely this is the single best use for the FH chip?

And hopefully City and Liverpool play the same weekend otherwise lots of FPL managers will mangle their squads mid February.

But isn’t it just a single (long-drawn-out) game-week of 10 matches for FPL purposes? I’m not seeing the problem...

Yeah, it'll all be in one gameweek spanning two weekends. It says this on the FPL site under the fixtures for GW 26:
As part of the mid-season player break, five fixtures assigned to 8 February 2020 will be moved to the weekend commencing 15 February 2020. All 10 fixtures will remain within Gameweek 26.

Yeah it'd need to be like that or you'd have 39 gameweeks in the year.

It'll still be somewhat tricky, especially if you're waiting on injury/team news from the five later games, which wont take place until a week after the deadline.

yes, the problem will be your players getting injured midweek when they are playing warm weather training matches in Dubai instead of resting!

(and when I say warm weather training I mean cash whoring around whatever country will pay them a load of cash to play there)

You’d probably want a captain playing in the first round of fixtures to reduce uncertainty. Good decision. Defo a gameweek to be navigated

Oh well, that’s cleared that up.

Time to stop bumping this thread and let it naturally slide off the board into obscurity forever.

Goodbye thread, we barely knew you.
