Another interesting captain option could be one of Mané or Firminio. Liverpool loves playing Arsenal, no win by Arsenal since 2015, if I am correct. Firminio scored a hattrick in the 5-1 demolition in December 2018. So far not a single vote for either of the two.

statement from 27 AUG 2017:

Sadio Mane and Roberto Firmino's stunning form against Arsenal continues. Mane has contributed six goals (four goals, two assists) in his last six starts against the Gunners and Firmino has four goals in five matches against them.

and the scorers in the 5-1 in December 2018 were Firmino hattrick, Mané and Salah This does not include any assists.

Food for thought!

I think that this will be a really interesting match. Arse's defence almost impressed me vs Burnley and I think they would have conceded much earlier in the past but they actually seemed to care at the back and were blocking shots.....

Previous stats have no baring on whether he will score or not.

Just like a coin toss that has landed heads 6 x on a trot the next toss is till 50/50

the coin has no memory and thus historic trends (whilst interesting) are academic

infact if anything the above would mean he is more likely to score....he may think " I always score against Bournemouth"

Already blanked, as Man City beat Bournemouth away last March 1-0, with the goal coming from Mahrez.

I'm captaining Sterling without a doubt and feeling comfortable (I don't have Kane).

When City won 1-0 at Bournemouth last season Howe completely changed his usual set up and put men behind the ball. They used a 4-1-4-1 formation and sat deep. Unsure if he'll do the same as it didn't exactly work last year in that they lost but it did prevent a thrashing.

Pep said before that game that Bournemouth away was tricky for them.

I think it still is.

You can as I have him as insurance, so not bothered as I doubt many will Capt him.

Capt Sterling (who I have) on the other hand, or a KdB (who I don't) haul 😢

Kane C
Sterling VC

That City result should give Spurs a lift & Newcastle are a bit awful.

I remember it being really frustrating for City. Bournemouth actually did not register a single shot that game. KdB went off injured just before HT and Fernandinho did not play that game, which I'm sure affected City. The xG score was 0-1.51. I think City are better this year, so I'm not expecting another narrow win this time.

Anyway, I wish I had Kane for the weekend but Sterling should suffice.

Kane for me. As a Newcastle fan we completely suck and none of the players appear to have tasks/rolls/tactics given to them clearly. If Spurs score fairly early I can see it being a cricket score.

This is how poor seasons are made.

Why have Stering, Salah and Kane if not going to captain them ?

You must defo have some 4.0 defenders in that line up if you have all them big guns in starting 11

I have a question and I would really appreciate if I get more than 1 answer. :)

I see Kane is the obvious captain. I can also see Sterling is following him in the poll.

What I really can't understand is how is it possible that Salah as a captain is potential differential this week?

Don't get me wrong. I have Kane. I have Lucas. I have KDB, and I have Salah.

Arsenal defence is awful, probably on the same level as NEW's. What's wrong with captaining Salah? I just want an explanation since it looks like I'm missing something big.

Nothing just think that managers think Kane and sterling etc will outscore him

For me i’m still undecided which isn’t a great position to be in.

I'll go for: I'm not expecting many to Capt Salah so Kane for me.

I have all 3 but not for much longer as I really don't like these decisions and was happy going eith just Sterling as perma Capt, but the Lpool defence looks more than a little shaky atm.

I didn't say I'd never captain them, just this week I fancy martial to bag some points (I don't have a fixed captain for every week). I did recognise that this was going against the general norm (hence the shock emoji), and I could well get it wrong when Kane bags a hat trick

I have DDG in goal and 3 main defenders VVD, Zin and Maguire with 2 x 4.0 guys - Kelly and Rico

I have a team with Lpool defence and am also thinking it looks a little ropey.....used WC too so a bit stuck but am thinking of distributing over many GWs funds elsewhere.

Interesting that you are certain over Kane, I notice on one of the other threads you are "Gutted about Martial, he will have to come into my team at some point, even if he cost me 8.0 by then".

I know that it's a risk going with Martial this week when Kane looks so very tempting - if I stick with Martial then I might have to watch the Spurs game from behind the sofa :D

I've just had a look ahead at the fixtures in Wk 5 and there will be a very similar dilemma as Salah home to New, Kane home to CP, Martial home to Lei and Sterling away to Nor - but let's not go there yet, I've got this weekend to sweat through.

Good luck to all

Kane at home to Newcastle is TC in a single GW territory for those that like that sort of thing.
