Aubemeyang does extremely well against Burnley
Kane has started scoring in August.
Salah plays a seemingly poor defence of Southampton.

After a good start I wonder whether I should play it safe and put the armband on Salah or whether I shall take a risk on either of the first two. Fortunately there is still a week to think about it.
Decision taken:

Auba (C)
Sterling (VC)
Yep. Why have Auba for 2 GW's and not band him this weekend?

Getting Kane for GW3?
Highly likely
Pretty much my planning for both transfer and captaincy :)

Much closer call on Salah vs Sterling than it was at the start of the week, but I think I'll still be giving it to Mo.

Some nasty looking games this week all round, could be a tough week for my team. :(

Sterling C
Salah V

I really think im making a mistake here, but can just see Salah being rested tomorrow and used as impact player if needed from the bench.

Good luck to everyone who sticking with him though 👍🏻

Not really, but I don't have much confidence in Salah after the extra time and long trip midweek.

Think id do that anyway if could and i know it be hard for you to do, so hopefully Burnley win 4-3 and he gets you a trick 😉

Best form of defence is attack and all that. Klopp will start his big 3 up front tomorrow and keep Southampton players much too occupied to get anywhere near the stand in keeper.

+1

Have a feeling salah won't return a big score, either by not starting / fatigue / southampton shoring up or some combination of all of them

Bournemouth's performance against sheffield seems to me more indicative of sheffield's playstyle and mentality than bournemouth's form

Also I love going out on a limb on a cap - when it pays it PAYS. Wilson red card in 3..2..

Auba for me as this fixture was a major factor why I didn't have Sterling in GW1.

The great Soviet Chess Grandmaster Alexander Kotov once said 'a mediocre plan is better than no plan', I hope for my sake he's right here lol

Going with Sterling.
Salah may be the Duracell bunny, but the rest of the team aren't so it may turn into one of those games that they have to win ugly.

Klopp on the Super Cup: "I would say that the three players who suffered least in that game were Kante, Sadio and Mo! They are more used to playing in circumstances like that, physically really strong all three of them."

saw this in FFS earlier today

The stats are dark and full of errors.

Re: Gameweek 2 captain

I've little doubt that the front three will play - Firmino only came on for the second half and Salah and Mane (and Milner) are ridiculous for fitness levels, but there's no reason not to sub one or two of them off later in the game, although the main concern would be more in the central midfield areas where the press needs to work to backup the front 3.

Milner and Wijnaldum each played half the game, so perhaps its likely they both start today (if Milner's knee is ok) but Fabinho & Henderson played the full 120 so seems likely they will be benched - at least one of Lallana or the Ox presumably start in the midfield then so it's how much confidence you'd have over one of those.

Fabinho missing and the keeper situation have me looking at my defensive options and wondering about a transfer - if City had an easier game I'd probably be moving for Laporte.

How would he know how Kante is feeling ?

I feel Salah will play some part in the game, maybe 70 mins or last 30 mins, but for a captain you would want someone who was going to be looking like playing 90 mins surely ?

He was in turkey only a couple of days ago and played 120 mins, so not just Salah but Liverpool as a whole could be sluggish this gameweek and thats coming from someome who has 3 of there players

I recently read somewhere based on the Salah-Sterling choice that there are three rules to follow in choosing between them... in that particular order;
1. Not the one playing a top 6 team.
2. Which ever is playing @Home.
3. The one playing a team ranked lower in the league.
Last season following these 3 rules would have earned you 614pts from these two.

That's what they did about two seasons ago (or three?). They were so good going forward that their defence wasn't tested.

So 1. Salah

3. Um both?

So it's a tie!
