Strategy to win mini League

I consider my sefl an ok player but for the past 2 season i have enter paid mini league and haven't won a single prize but like 3-4 years ago i would at least get a monthly prize an one occasion won it all

last year i was 30 points away from finishing 10th were i would be able to win a prize but blew it and strategy i should adopt to stay close to the leader so i can win overall and also pick up a monthly prize
