As a Brentford fan, I am tempted! Honestly think he could be this year's Jimenez.
If this deal had been done a couple of weeks ago I'd be all over him, he's a quality footballer

So how do we expect Brighton to lineup this season?

They have been lining up in pre-season in a 3-4-3 formation with Trossard and Locadia either side of Murray. Does the addition of Maupay mean it will be him or Murray as the main striker, or will Maupay play in the front three with Murray plus one another?

I do have Murray pencilled in as my third striker because he had an appealing open set of fixtures, but with the addition of Maupay I might have to look at other options if he's no longer nailed on to start. And if it is a case that only one of them plays, we now have another team in that price range with an up in the air starting striker position to go along with Southampton and Sheffield United.

Is Jordan Ayew likely to get gametime, or enough to start with him as an enabler (with optimism for perhaps becoming a regular starter at Palace)? At 5.0m he would fit the bill for rotation with a pair of 4.5m defs (Diop and Kiko) and helps free up funds for some of the big guns.

I'd assume that Murray is safe for the first GW or two while Maupay settles in, but Maupay scored a lot of goals last year and Murray is 120 years old so I'm pretty sure he's been signed to succeed him. Whether or not that ruins both for FPL purposes we'll have to wait and see.

I don't actually think the Southampton situation is that up in the air - it seems like they will play Ings and Adams up front as a first choice front pair.

Charlie Austin has joined West Brom which makes me even more confident in Che Adams. That leaves four strikers for two spots. Obafemi is a backup I reckon, and Ings is injury prone. So I'm hoping it's Adams + Ings with Ings being rotated/subbed with Long and Obafemi (or Obafemi playing wide?) when necessary. I know Gallagher is on the roster but I haven't heard anything about him. Cup appearances maybe?

Is Connor Wickham a potential option for a cheap, third forward who would mostly be on the bench, but would occasionally be called to provide some minutes when one of the 2 starting forwards are rested or injured?

Are you saying this will happen in a few weeks or are you saying he’s 36 in a few weeks or both? I need a 6m for my second striker and I’m torn between him and Wesley really

If I knew Maupay was starting from the off he'd be in my team in a heartbeat. Brighton forums are offering up next to no info unfortunately.

The danger with these 6.0's though is that at the back of my mind, I do feel like I would need to keep 0.5 spare in case one of Jota/Wood/Deulofeu/King gets off to a flyer.

Potter suggested he lacks match fitness, I suggest caution, probably eased in

And Murray is razor sharp and breaking all records in physical tests (for a 63 year old) 😂

As a Brentford fan I can report that due to transfer rumours and the like, Maupay didn't play even a single minute of pre-season, so I'd be astounded if Potter had the guts to start him this weekend.

Y'all tease him but he'll score two in two home games. Probably celebrate his 36th b'day with a brace..

In fact, I'd even say Murray's game is independent of age

Thanks, although I am firmly on Locadia.

What is he like as a player? Do you think he can play as the CF in a 3 up top and be OK to Good in the Prem?

Any reason that Troy Deeney isn't on the list and being discussed? Watford have a reasonable first few games. Is he still a sure starter and first choice penalty taker? I'm considering him alongside King unless there's a good reason I shouldn't.

Is it clear which two of Deeney, Deulofeu and Welbeck will actually start when all fit and raring to go?

There's Sarr and Peyreyra to fit into the attack somewhere too so I can't see it being all three of them.

I thought Deeney was pretty much nailed on to start and he should be on pens. Thinking of starting with him and then maybe transferring out after a few weeks to Kean or whichever Chelsea striker looks best bet.

I've decided to go with 3-5-2 and two budget strikers, currently on King and Jota, however might swap the latter for Deulofeu

Ings+Siggy or Jota+Fraser

(Already have Wilson so don't want King).

That's a tough one!

I think King playing no10 behind Wilson will take some of Fraser's points away though :(

That, and I really rate Siggy (and Moise Kean is a favourite player of mine, I see him getting Siggy a lot of assist points)

Wish I could find the 0.5 to upgrade Ings though...
