Apologies in advance but I felt the need for a little nostalgia.
No need to apologise for sharing a little of the magic of the good doctor himself, Brazil and Garforth Town legend Sócrates. 8-)

My Blades friend says Lundstrum not likely to get many minutes.

Rico seems good for those first 2 fixtures and Gibson as a chance

Chambers will most likely start our 1st 4 games until Holding comes back. Please remember we have our annual 5-1 hiding at Anfield took forward too plus Spurs in those 4 games also. As someone who watches our wretched defence most weeks I'd pick someone from Norwich over any of them.

Lundstrum has always been a bench warmer, but he had a decent pre-season at CM, he might get the odd game there, bit of a useful utility player to have on the bench.

Martin Kelly (4.0) at CP a good pick?

Not after the signing of Gary Cahill.

It surprises me a little what some people expect from a 4.0m likely 3rd bencher. AWB was most definately the exception; not the rule. If I get a 4.0m 3rd bencher who comes on for a 1pt thats good enough for me. Anything more is a bonus.

How will Leicester start off in central defence? Guessing Evans & Söyüncü, but no idea really!

Heh, pretty much my thoughts exactly. I can only imagine that those considering the likes of Chambers and Holding are doing so under the assumption that Arsenal are still being managed by George Graham.

Kyle Walker Peters. Aurier could be leaving but Spurs in the market for a new right back, possibly from Napoli.

I’ve gone with Rico and balbuena

Theory is Rico likely to start gw1 with decent fixture so can be 1st sub . Balbuena has city away first game but after that should be a good 1st sub

Mine too, but they must have someone lined up if they are selling two of their first team in that position... you would think.

I wouldn't say likely; Daniels played in the last friendly and I'd think he is marginally more likely to play and there is also a chance of Kelly starting.

40% chance of Rico starting at best.

Foyth is ahead of KWP is my understanding, he's an argie like pochetino.

Daniels is nailed on when fully fit, coming back from a serious knee injury

Wasn’t it Daniels first preseason start? So he’ll be miles away from the required fitness

Presence of KWP could also mean less chances of a CS for Spurs..

So for the 4.0 options it looks like Rico is in a battle for the shirt with Daniels (with Smith switching sides also an option). Lundstram has started all recent friendlies for Sheff Utd and played 60 minutes plus as a defensive midfielder. Rico has better fixtures but Lundstram perhaps looks the safer bet for a longer run unless the Blades bring in a new face in midfield (they have been linked to Daniel Amartey of Leicester in recent days). Lundstram is not a popular choice amongst the Sheff Utd fans going off their forums though.

True, but he is cheaper, so easily benched in GW2?

Whether he is worth holding beyond GW3 is a different question and does buy time.....

Anyone thinking of adding Gary Cahill to his team. He came in at 4.5m.

Not only should Palace be tighter at the back, but he could also chip in with some goals on set pieces.

My only concern at the beginning of the season is whether he is fit enough without a club over the summer.

Not forgetting Hanley at Norwich.
