GW38 Captain

Posted: 07 May 2019, 00:38
by Pirlo's Beard
Going into the final week, I'm 32 points behind my mini-league leader. To have any realistic chance of rescuing the situation I need to pull an almighty 'Hail Mary' move out of the bag. With this in mind, my final captain pick of the season will likely be a high-risk masterstroke/embarrassing failure.

With Arsenal having a tough game in Valencia on Thursday night, and possessing a defence with less spine than an earthworm (the kind Sean Dyche loves to eat), I'm backing the brutish Burnley bods to bring the pain on Sunday and finish their own season with a flourish.

Step forward, Captain No.38...

Going to be Pogba or Redmond for me, 30 points behind mini-league leader.. but only 3 ahead of 3rd who has hazard as a differential.

League leader matched my mane, aguero and sterling.

Mo Salah(c) Chris Wood (vc) but that could change.
Wolves are tough but getting tired so a rested Mo captain ( if his head has stopped hurting), or a motivated Wood against a defence that are on the beach and are more interested in Europa league.
Who would not want a Wood for the final game week?
This has to be one of the best final game weeks for many years with the league title still being contested.

Your better bet would be captaining Sterling, unless your rival brings him in to block you. So keep a watch on his gameweek transfers and team value, and if it seems he doesn't bring in Sterling, then captain him.

Sterling is perhaps the player with the highest expected points in GW38, so if your rival doesn't bring him in then surely the differential you are looking for pretty much picks itself.

Aguero (Sterling) or Sterling (Aguero). City have to score to win the title.

Pool will want to score first to put pressure on City. Salah is a differential to the top 10k and a ton of mini league teams. He also missed out on that Barca game and will be hungry/fresh - some of the others might suffer a little bit of a hangover! Going to captain him. He also has to seal the golden boot.

What is this Wood hype all the sudden ? is this like the time the entire Internet agreed on triple captaining Shane Duffy ?

Not saying I'm not interested

I think it is Arse away are shite and Dyche will stick it up them, which they won't like....

I don't even know if Woods is a starter  But "wood" has a double meaning

Not sure where the Wood interest came in. I planned a Wood for GW38 weeks ago. and managed to miss the Duffy points all together.
Who would not be interested in a Wood for the final GW38?
Looking forward to that feeling of satisfaction when the game is over and it is time to relax.
Good luck with your GW anyway.

Arsenal are better than average defence and Burnley are below average attack.

Last week of a very poor season. So another gamble needed.

Pogba (C) Vardy (VC)

Sterling, Mane or Kun. Feels like a coin-toss.

I think heart says City will step up and do the business, solid 3 or 4 goal win to seal the title. Think I'll go Raheem.

Aguero (c)
Jota (vc)

Might reverse that for a punt.

I have Kun over Sterling and Mane atm, but I'm starting to think it's too easy\obvious....

They have conceded 9th least goals in PL. That's better than average.

Going Vardy (C) Sterling (VC), got a 20ish point deficit to claw back from mini league leader and think he could be a potent differential.
