Well i'm really thinking that Felipe Anderson will be rested as I think he won't be used to not having a winter break

We don't have the medical data. So we've no idea. Managers pick a team to win, that's all we know.

Can see Rashford and .martial being rested for 1 of the next 2 games. Easier home fixtures and a chance for Ole to see Lukaku ,Mata and Sanchez if fit

If Martial misses a game it's not a rest

I don’t think we’ll see too many rested today.
I think it’s gw20 with the shortest turnaround that will be carnage

Re: Which players do you think will be rested during the Christmas period
I think it will be spread over 19/20/21 depending on the teams fixtures, example - I can't imagine Arsenal resting anybody in GW20 away at Liverpool, but the two games either side, who knows?
Maybe teams will just give players the FA Cup game off so they get a weeks rest after being slogged over Christmas?
But BB is right, we just don't know and it's hard enough at normal times with Pep, just have to hope for the best, put the C on somebody you are sure will start and get your bench in order.
Everybody is in the same situation, so if there are some high profile players left out it will hit lots of managers.

It’s impossible to predict.
I’ve read rumours that 5 of my front 7 will be rested today (Sterling, Salah, Martial, Aubameyang and Chicharito).
I’m just trying to get my vice captain and substitute order right.

I honestly think Salah will be rested at home today with 4 pts clear and two season definers coming up. So I’ve shipped him out anyway.

yes, it can drive you mad, if that nightmare scenario did occur then at least you would know that they would all be starting GW20.

Re: Which players do you think will be rested during the Christmas period
It seems quite a good schedule this year for most.
Guess the most vulnerable to rotation are the Caribou teams (Arsenal, Spurs, Chelsea, City and Leicester).
It’s only the New Year’s Day games where it might prove too much (just two days rest on the back of 5-6 games in less than three weeks):
Leicester
Sat (15/12)
Tue (cc)
Sat
Wed
Sat
Tue
not massively unreasonable.
The European AND cc players a bit more strenuous but there was pretty extensive rotation for that Caribou game anyway.
Spurs
Tue (CL)
Sat

Re: Which players do you think will be rested during the Christmas period
I took Sterling out for Salah but that was for free, although reading RAWK this morning and quite a few have Salah being rested for the Arsenal & City games so perhaps I should have done nothing until these festive games were over...........it probably is the worst time of the season to be making transfers (not counting removing injured players)

Re: Which players do you think will be rested during the Christmas period
My thinking is Salah will sit the arsenal game . The way klopp talks about recovery times resting today would do no good for the city game which is the big game , Arsenal at home not that tough imo

No offence but this is absoulete nonsense.
Arsenal is a massive game for Liverpool and he will have his strongest 11 out as he will for the man city game.
This is the game against Newcastlw he has to rest the likes of Robertson, Salah and maybe even VVD.

Re: Which players do you think will be rested during the Christmas period
Friday -> Wednesday is plenty of recovery time.
He rested Firmino and Mane for a home game against Chelsea last season so Klopp isn’t adverse to resting players if they need it.
There is plenty of time between Arsenal and City so that’s not an issue either.
Therefore is just whether or not playing Wed/Sat (both at home) is an issue. This isn’t too different to what they normally have to cope with (on CL weeks). The fact they have been lightly raced leading in to it is also a factor. It’s as much about the cumulative effect as it is the games themselves. Liverpool have had 4 fulls days rest before their last 3 matches.

Don’t think it’s nonsense . Might be slightly fanciful ...
Arsenal is not a massive game though . It’s a game they are expected to win comfortably . City is a massive game

Yep, I stand corrected re: Salah. Martial is a blow too. Ah well, another mince pie and a beer will soften it.
