Thought that wasn't allowed and is reason we all expect GW32 to be full of doubles?

thanks for moving this into this thread. Should have thought of that myself.

Hmmm. So does that mean there is no need for GW31 fixtures to all be rescheduled to GW32, and they could instead be spread around a bit? There are a lot of managers assuming a big DGW32 is coming, as well as a smaller DGW35, and this must at least throw a shred of potential spanner into those works?

They'll all go in 32 & 35. :)

Is this true? Tottenham-Brighton in GW33 could be a blank even if Brighton are not playing in FA Cup semi-finals? Brighton also have their Chelsea fixture to be rearranged!

Yes, looks legit, though an unlikely scenario.

Why is it unlikely? Because Tottenham's new stadium is supposed to be ready in GW33?

Let's not discount the riots and general feralness that is to become of us after 29th March :o

I personally think they would move it to the Friday night. Earlier in the season they had a NFL game on the Wembley surface less than 24 hours before Spurs hosted Man City (the game with hardly any grass and all the markings confusing everyone  ), so I don't think an extra football match 24 hours before would stop them.

Ha! Didn't the 2011 London riots lead to a Spurs - Everton fixture being postponed on the opening weekend and everyone getting an extra wildcard? That would shake things up a bit were the scenario repeated this year!

They used to host the playoffs on three consecutive days didnt they.

It all may be quite different in a few years time, with the rumblings that the CL could soon be moved to weekends (with the league games switched to corresponding midweek, in the latest not-thinking-of-the-fans direction of travel).

I guess there would still be similar DGW/BGW prospects anyway, no? I think it would be different only if there were fewer matches (all competitions combined) and/or a longer season, or am I missing something?

Imagine proposing a 1995-style 4 teams down, 2 up promotion relegation scenario, with today's money for staying in the Prem?! There would be carnage.

So, first confirmed GW31 blank is Watford v Southampton.

On the odds, maybe looking at 5 blanks rather than 4 now.

What are we all hoping for from the FA Cup this weekend?

With all chips left I’d rather the route through 31-35 be the most difficult possible!

Chelsea to get knocked out would be nice. I don't have any Chelsea but getting three of them by gw31 would be extremely convenient for my squad setup. It would also mean Fabianski has a game in GW33 and Digne would have a game in GW31.

The draw is also important for GW33. With Brighton, Millwall, Watford, Wimbledon, Palace, Derby, Bristol C, Wolves, Swansea and Brentford still in the FA Cup (some to disappear soon), the QF draw could be interesting if lots of them get drawn against each other. For me, Brighton's exit either today or in QF would help with Son in GW33 and Palace's unlikely exit this weekend would help with Son in GW31. All so complicated. Which is good...

The draw immediately follows the Chelsea v United game on Monday night.

(checks calendar for number of work meetings on Tuesday)

No shocks, but for exactly one of Palace and Chelsea going out, would be my ideal I think.

Would leave enough active options to hit BGW31 with no chips with minimal pre-31 team disruption, whilst not making it too easy for most teams. So 3 Liv, 2/3 from the one of Chelsea/Spurs not through, plus a smattering of cheaper Leicester/Bournemouth/West Ham.

Wolves going out would make it a little too easy I think, with all those and Arsenal players around already.

No Chelsea/Spurs (and no Ars/Wol) and the blank weeks could be a damp squib.

Whatever happens I'm pretty sure I'll be building to GW31 with no chips due to 3 Liv, Maguire and a playing cheap defence already in place. Then, for a no-chip-to-31 strategy, the precise subsequent chip layout need not be decided till after GW31 plays out, as we'll learn everything between 31 and 32.

Pretty sure I'll be either the now extremely popular

FH32 WC34 BB35

or (if GW33 looks too different to GW31 in terms of desirable teams)

WC32 FH33 BB35.

Since you have already played your TC, Chelsea going out would be a fortunate swing for you I would think.

City and Utd both losing would throw a few cats into the pigeon mix and might make the next few weeks interesting.

I'm not sure I actually have any preference at this point - I've a completely open mind on strategy - the less players I have in BGW31 the more I will have for DGW32. Happy to take whatever comes.

City going out? To Newport??? I think I'd actually be flummoxed as to what to do if both Manchester clubs went out the cup.

I would say I definitely don't want Wolves to lose as that imo, would make it all too easy to navigate without chips.

Well it looks like Brighton Cardiff is probably off for GW31.

Brighton v Cardiff now confirmed as blank and Crellin now forecasting 4.98 blanks. If the Cardiff game is shifted to GW32, Brighton will have SOU CAR which looks quite tasty if they can find a bit of form between now and then. Of course, they might put the Chelsea game in GW32 depending on what happens elsewhere

What will be the bigger DGW out of 32 and 35 ?

Ive already wasted my TC on Sterling and dont want to waste my BB on wrong game week

There will be more blanks in GW31 unless something very strange happens. Assuming (and it is an assumption, we don't really know) that the blanks from 31 go to 32 then that will be the bigger DGW. Remember though that biggest doesn't actually mean best - it depends on fixtures etc.

True, but the bigger the gameweek, the more chance i have of having my full team playing including bench so i can use my BB, then its just down to a bit of luck and the correct captain pick.

Not had one single gameweek over 100 points yet so all my eggs going in the basket for that game week 🤞🏻

Well you never know, Newport holding their own at half time. And I agree with you about Wolves 8-)
