City Watch watch:

Lyon game: Predicted Foden (Mahrez played), Delph (Zinchenko) - two fails
West Ham: Mahrez (Sterling), Stones (Otamendi) - two fails
Man Utd: Spot on
Shakhtar: Mendy (Zinchenko), Danilo (Walker) - two fails

Doesn't look like an insider to me.

Well I didn't expect them to be insiders, I just wondered whether they have a good understanding about City in general. They may have, but their argumentation doesn't convince me this time. For example this extract:

"On the wings, I will go for Riyad Mahrez and Raheem Sterling. Raz has scored 7 goals in his last 6 games against Bournemouth."

I really don't think Sterling's record against Bournemouth is relevant information for Pep when he decides his lineup for tomorrow.

I didn't say you expected them to be insiders, so no need for being dismissive to someone who took the time to respond to your query.

Relax man, I wasn't dismissive.

Besides, I didn't say you said.

Seems fanciful to me.
a) They played on Tuesday.
b) when was the last time Pep made five changes (not including league cup).

Pretty sure it’s going to be Sane Aguero Sterling tomorrow IMO. Was so tempted to do Haz > Sane for -4 but I thought BOU are decent (even if we can smash anyone) & sane might not be good long term even if he does average 10 points per game atm those pesky cameos could kill other points off the bench, plus I’ve got the lethal raheem anyway

It would make my day if Sterling was on the bench and came on for 1min cameo where he gets booked for taking his shirt off after Sane scores his hattrick.

Only thing I can think about Aguero is that he got subbed late at Lyon and was grimacing a bit but he does that sometimes and its nothing. Jesus faced a fitness test for this game so its got to be an injury of some sorts IMO.

Lets hope Sterlings the main man again today :o

Me. He has two away games up next, when he's not been picking up points away from home. Kane has Southampton, Leicester and Burnley in the next three.

Are we thinking a Sterling rest on Tuesday?

He played both internationals and every game since then.

Could see Jesus starting instead of Aguero again though, as Jesus has hardly played recently.

You’d think so but we can only guess. I’m keeping Mahrez for one more GW as both Sterling and Sané played both internationals and every City game since then, but Pep can easily fool me again.

On Jesus/Agüero: I’m actually pretty confident of Jesus starting midweek. Pep needs Agüero fully fit for the Chelsea game.

If Aguero is fit, I think he starts and comes off on the hour midweek. Then he will be about 100% for Chelsea. I'm probably getting rid of him but I think him starting midweek is injury dependent.

Really don't know what to make of Sterling - this season he's at least as good as last but not by the eye test. I feel he's running at about the same level as last season, just converted more. Might be wrong there but it looks that way; missed so many big chances last season. As for Salah he's not running at anywhere near the conversion rate of last season yet, but the eye test shows him to be very dangerous again this season. IMO more dangerous than Sterling and slightly less likely to be rested. But he is more expensive so I'm taking that into account whilst I, like many I'm sure, are considering the Salah to Sterling move next week. KDB back soon mixes it up once again.

Sterling did not play for England against USA.

Serious? To my eye he's currently playing as well anybody in Europe right now

He is indeed. But I didn't say that. I'm looking from an FPL perspective - I think he was sensational last season too, but missed lots of chances. He's not missing them this season. Salah is. I don't know how long that will continue.

If to your eye Sterling doesn't pass your eye test in will say nothing, all opinions count and it's your team

He does pass my eye test - but my eyes are telling me he's not doing anything different from last season which means 230 odd points again?? At his current rate, 300 points is on the cards. I'm just doubting in my own mind that will continue but I do not know. Either he's quite simply a much better finisher now or he'll regress. Apart from the game today which I didn't see, if I were to magically asked to predict a future points comparison of Salah vs Sterling from now on, I'd say Salah via my eyes so far. Therein lies my dilemma. Should my eyes be telling me Sterling?

Sterling is cheaper than Salah, so he doesn't need to score as much as Salah.

My eyes tell my Liverpool's front 3 have regressed , Salah not benefitting from Firmino poor form. And Sterling is riding high in great form in a great team. Not sure what I'm missing you aren't tbh.

Salah played up front today which didn’t help his cause
Firmino form a factor
Liverpool miss the ox
Maybe the main thing is Liverpool are under a lot more pressure this season from expecting to be challenging for the title . Playing with less freedom.

I don’t know about the eye test but Sterling passes the points test for me ... of course I have Salah as well

Went for Sane over Sterling as a transfer for this week.

No Mendy is a big factor imo for the width needed on the left, + the 2m saving means I can get Auba in next week aswell
